The only church in Viterbo that survived in its original medieval form the centuries and well worth a visit. The frescos on the wall still have vivid colours. The most interesting item in the church is the triptych painted on leather. But the stone pulpit on the outside, from which Thomas of Aquino has preached in the 13th century, is special too

I consider this church a must-visit. She has her own energy that you can feel.

Enoteca Aenos

12/05/2024: Cool wine bar. We got some good recommendations. Saturday evening seems to be sometimes live Musik in front of the Castle. :-)
17/03/2024: I happened upon this enoteca on my first day in Bolsena. It’s magical! After you view the amazing sunset from the castle, enjoy wine and a bit of olives/crackers with truly delightful wines. The owners are the servers! They will help you with tastes until you settle on your personal favorite. Ana was friendly as can be and deepened my understanding of local wines. The atmosphere is chill. Be sure to ask to see photos of the history of the building. an Impressive conversion to a place I’ll likely visit many more times during my stay in Bolsena. Update: with Ana’s help Clint and I passed our WSET Level 2 in wines. We took this class in Montalcino, then took the exam in Ottawa in December, and received our certificates of passing in March while in California. We had Tignanello to celebrate, a wine highly recommended by Ana and Alessandro.
