Incredible staff, we were at the top!!!!

A friend recommended the meatballs at Ca Doro alla Vedova, and I have to say, they were incredibly tasty and delicious. However, I must point out that the service I received from the staff was quite disappointing and unkind. It’s a shame that such excellent food was paired with such poor service, as it detracted from the overall experience. I hope the restaurant can improve in this area.

The history and years of stories oozes from every inch of the place. Limited selection but excellent food and the desserts are fabulous.

Traditional Venetian food, served in a lively, vintage-artsy decorated osteria. They serve very fresh, tasty Polpette (local meatballs). The pasta we had (squid ink and ancovies and onion sauce) was served piping hot, it was perfectly cooked and the sauces were both marvelous: savoury, simple and not overcrowded with flavors, letting the subtler tastes shine through. I would reccomend it for an authentic food experience, or for a quick snack and glass of wine (they offer takeaway snacks and wine as well!). Service could be a bit quicker, but this place seems to be constantly full, so make a reservation and be patient, it's worth it!

He speeds you up to make a second serve. It's good but not exceptional and the price remains above the dishes offered. Very fish oriented.

The best meatballs in the world

I was worried because I saw reviews saying they were unfriendly, but they were very friendly and even had the sense to greet me in Korean. The pasta wasn't too salty and the seasoning was just right. It was delicious. Please try the meatballs. It's delicious.

Definitely typical place. My evaluation is made only on my "bacaro tour" experience and the only dish I ate was their famous meatball. That said, the meatball was really good crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside. So good that I was forced to get another one ;) Out of curiosity I looked at the menu with the prices displayed, and they are absolutely in line with the prices of 2024, of a city centre, of the most famous city in the world. In fact, I would dare to say even a little lower than my expectations. As I said, I didn't evaluate the actual cuisine, but certainly the next time I'm in Venice we will also try the seated "experience". For now passed with flying colors (obviously to be contextualised with the fact that we are talking about an inn, not a starred one)
