Each dish is a succulent surprise: typical flavors expertly cooked. The environment is simple and informal, reminiscent of "other times". The service is also informal, but attentive and fast. Excellent quality-price relation.

Portions not large but high quality food. Relatively little choice of dishes. Quick service, friendly and polite staff. One of the few places with honest prices.

A very pleasant and quiet place where you can eat well-cooked traditional dishes in a rustically furnished and very pleasant environment. it can be easily reached and it is almost always possible to park in the car park adjacent to the Crotto. I've already been back and I'll be back!

Exceptional in every season. One would easily say "a place out of time" but fundamentally it is true. In the cooler seasons the interior is a sort of ethnographic museum of ancient forest and country crafts. In the seasons where you are outside, let it be: you are in the healthy cool, when in the city of Como you flounder in the suffocating humidity of the worst heat. At Crotto you always breathe beautiful air in the middle of the woods and beautiful people. Going to the food, never once have they disappointed us. Attention, care, precision. I admit, I go to Crotto to always eat the things I love: first appetizer with their sublime snails, garlic, parsley and butter, second appetizer with cured meats and cheeses. And then, secondly, the cutlet. It's a gift from the Gods, perfect breading, not a badly cooked piece of meat left stuck to the bone (which we then take home for the dogs). But we need to talk extensively about the perfect pizzoccheri, the risotto with porcini mushrooms, the traditional sciatt and the seasonal menus. Then again: from the Fassona black truffle to the chicory with anchovies and pecorino foam, from the roast croaker fillet to the Angus steak, from the stuffed ravioli to the braised beef cazoeula. And then wild boar in every variant, polenta and missoltini, fried arborelle, risotto with asparagus and stracciatella with lemon scent, egg poached in asparagus with taleggio fondue and fried thyme bread. And now I'll stop because it's a list. I don't like desserts in general but all my guests have always given them generous ratings. If you don't go to Crotto, that's ultimately what I want to say, you're doing yourself a disservice. But you already know that, I think. (Never eaten pizza, but the residents of Civiglio, our friends, say it is excellent. And I believe them) What do you have to say about the service? It's always a smile, kindness, nice attention.

I've been there a couple of times. The rustic environment is what you expect from a trattoria: comfortable, informal and the service is friendly. It has a car park large enough to accommodate guests' cars. You can find typical traditional dishes. Naturally there is no shortage of polenta offered in different variations and which I appreciated. This last time I tasted the suckling pig which is a dish I wouldn't repeat but last time I enjoyed the perch risotto. I'll be back to try the pizza too. The relationship between the service received and the expense is good.

Remote restaurant on the mountain. Mainly visited by locals. Pizza was very good with plenty of toppings. Service a bit impersonal and listless.
