Delicious food and the staff is very sweet and helpful. The carbonara with truffle is the best I have ever eaten. A hidden treasure in the center of Florence.

Such an amazing experience! The food was incredible and authentic. I was taken good care of and recommended il peposo with pici. Sooooo good, 100% recommend!

The dishes are a little more expensive compared to other restaurants, but it's worth it. The breaded steak was very tasty and the meat was tender. The service was good, the waitress was very friendly.

We entered not knowing what to expect and went put feeling heavenly. The food was amazing and the service very friendly. Special mention to the gnocchi with pecorino cheese and truffle MAMMA MIA! a pasta that will make you cry.. definitely recommend The wine was tasty and the atmosphere a cellar like place with lot of character and charm.

I've lived in Italy many years and know how challenging it can be to choose the best place to dine. I was travelling alone in Florence and was searching for a place in Oltrarno where I could feel comfortable and enjoy a meal with local specialities. I had just about given up when I saw the steps leading down to Il Cantinone. There was an arrow pointing to the left...to enter the restaurant. Immediately it felt like a place where I would feel comfortable. Along with the regular menu was printed the menu of the day; after conferring with two of the waiters, I decided on one of the specials and chose a glass of red wine from their generous list of excellent wines by the glass. The meal was exquisite as was the service and atmosphere. Since there almond biscotti are made in house I decided to end the meal with those and a glass of the vino santo. Needless to say the experience was perfect and I can't wait to return. And many compliments to the waiters for making this experience so positive.

Trovato per caso, è stata una sorpresa.... ottima scelta, ottimi piatti a prezzo contenuto. Tra l altro all interno di un locale molto caratteristico...Good!!

08/10/2023: Ristorante aperto al pubblico all interno dell Hotel Relais Santa Croce, hotel che condivide L ingresso con L Enoteca Pinchiorri. Cibo molto buono, terrina di fegatini ottima, faraona buonissima, così come la carne. Il servizio simpatico, e professionale. Forse un po’ alto il ricarico sui vini.

A very nice discovery, we recommend without restraint.

28/08/2023: I’ve had way too much gelato on this trip to Italy, a total of two months straight. We drove by this place on our way to dinner and decided to skip ordering dessert at the restaurant so we could try this gelato. I’m so glad I did because this place by far had the best gelato!!! 10/10!!! I would have taken a photo of my order but I ate it too quickly!!! Definitely a must visit when in Florence!!
