We are grateful for this restaurant, which served up our last supper before our departure from Italy next morning. My husband had been dreaming of the Florentine steak, and so far had not had the opportunity to fulfill his dream. We stayed near the airport our last night in Florence, and this Osteria was located within a couple blocks' walk. It was meant to be. We were the first to appear for dinner, right on the dot at 7 pm, with just a few other tables filling up in the restaurant. An older gentleman walked in and slapped a kitchen towel over his shoulder. Turns out he is the previous owner, sold to the Chinese man who hosted and served us. The older gentleman exuded charm and engaged us with his good English, explained how the charcoal grill is being phased out (thanks to new regulations), and how his restaurant cooks the old-fashioned way, so much flavor imparted to the meat. How right he was. My husband & I shared the huge steak with a side of fries and green salad. Our son enjoyed his spaghetti bolgnese. It was a delightful last supper. Grazie mille! It's a no-frills restaurant but the prices are right, and the food is superb.
