Small hidden gem in Venice! Our Italian friends took us there. They have authentic homemade Italian food. I had "spaghetti al nero di seppia with shrimp" It was simply delightful! Full of flavor and shrimp! We also ordered the house lasagna, and the mixed fish platter. Everything was exquisite. The restaurant is small so they are very personable and they will recommend/adjust to your liking. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone that would like to eat some authentic Italian food.

Ran into the owner early morning and made reservation for later that night. Loud, Locals, Great meal, Great wine, Great time. Excellent staff and owner, a true Italian experience. Very reasonable bill, Our cheapest dinner in Italy during our trip !. We would be regulars if we lived there. Five stars from a former chef.

This is a great place for a delicious meal. We went here when they opened for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed our meal.
We ate a salad; veal; pasta; steak and tiramisu as well as wine for about $100 euros which is incredibly inexpensive in my opinion.
Service was lovely, kind and did not rush us at all.

A very cozy place, with a small terrace, 3 tables. Quality in both service and products. Better to book in advance. Recommended

I went on recommendation from the tour guide, she recommended it as a restaurant frequented by locals. In fact, he was right, in four days in Venice it was the only one I saw Italians eating too. We went for dinner, without reservation. Upon arriving at around 8:30 pm, we entered and waited to be welcomed, the guy and girl who served the tables saw us but didn't approach us, after about 5 minutes a gentleman who appeared to be the owner asked if we had a reservation. We said no, but he got us a table. There were at least 3 other empty ones at the moment. We ordered the dishes and a bottle of wine and were offered water, at first I refused due to the sad greed that has taken over restaurants in Venice that refuse to offer free water and charge 3.5$ for a 500ml bottle, even though 2L costs 0.26 $ on the market. However, I later noticed that some tables had the long-awaited jugs of water that restaurants used to serve without even asking if we wanted it, as it was free. So along with the dessert (tiramisu) I asked if they could serve free water to help hydrate after half a bottle of wine… at first the guy said yes. However, I waited for 25 minutes and no tiramisu or water... which was strange because at that point there were only about 5 tables occupied and they had all finished, I thought I had forgotten my order. So I asked for the bill and it was charged for dessert. I reported that it never arrived... after a few minutes of confusion, the owner discovered that it was the tiramisu that didn't arrive, so they removed the charge. I paid $51 in total, for a bottle of wine $18, a dish of polenta with fried fish $17 and spinach pasta with pomodoro $11, plus a cover charge of $5.

Osteria Mocenigo offers an authentic and delightful dining experience. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm hospitality and a cozy, inviting atmosphere. It is recommended to reserve in advance.
The menu features a wonderful selection of traditional Venetian dishes, all prepared with fresh, high-quality ingredients. We started with the cheese platter trying different types of cheese followed by spaghetti Pasta and Ravioli with Spinach and Ricotta, everything was rich in taste, flavorful, and cooked to perfection, impressive presentation along with a perfect balance of flavors and textures.
Our server, chef and owner were knowledgeable and offered great recommendations for vegetarian options that enhanced our experience. The tiramisu is a must if you ever visit.
The ambiance of Osteria Mocenigo is charming and intimate, with a rustic decor that adds to the overall experience. It's the perfect place for a romantic dinner or a special evening out with friends and family.
It was an exceptional dining experience and along with combination of delicious food, excellent service, and a warm atmosphere makes it a standout choice in Venice. Highly recommended!

Siamo venuti a cena 2 volte in quanto vicina all albergo.
