Ristobar Campeggio Obelisco In Trieste

Despite some shortcomings, the place deserves a good 3* and I would visit it again. Older place, laid out on the mountainside above Trieste with narrow paths. Very quiet and with a tranquil atmosphere. Mainly long-term campers (friendly), a few parking spaces for motorhomes, once in the upper and also in the lower area. About three of the upper places have a spectacular view of Trieste. In the entrance area behind the barrier there are around 5-6 parking spaces, mainly for short-term guests. Because there are few places, we strongly recommend that you make a reservation, preferably by phone. Our short-term online reservation request via the website couldn't be found when we arrived, but we still got a very good spot in the entrance area. We paid €55 for 2 nights (parking space, 2 people, electricity and tourist tax). Supply and disposal are available, including for the disposal of chemical toilets. There is no WiFi, the mobile network is good. If you're looking for entertainment, a pool and children's entertainment, you've come to the wrong place. For me this is more of a plus point and contributes to the calm atmosphere. There are plenty of dishwashing and washing facilities, including washing machines and dryers. What unfortunately doesn't work at all are the 2x2 showers and 3 toilets in the entrance area. They're pretty shabby, there aren't enough of them and they're not particularly clean either. However, a new cleaning crew has just been introduced. The upper washhouse is in much better shape and even looks quite funny with its bright orange 70s design. But the sinks only provide cold water. By the way, the water tastes strongly chlorinated. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed (change of ownership). The bus connection to Trieste is very good, the stop is just a few minutes' walk away. Reception will be happy to help upon request.

The campsite is located in the forest on the mountain. There are campers everywhere, which are always there and it's like private yards drowned in flowers and greenery. It's very quiet, calm, you don't feel crowded. The bathrooms are old, but there is hot water. You have to go to the sea by bus or car, going down a steep mountain. A beautiful view of Trieste. There are many interesting places to visit nearby. Perhaps we will visit "Obelisk" again.

Location between the hairpin bends, luckily Luca Ravenna welcomed us. Luca the donut maker helped us with the maneuvers: surely in addition to his well-known past as a stand up comedian he must have also been a driving coach, he corrected us well. But let's talk bathrooms: small but heated meeting places with more or less pleasant chatter. The pos doesn't take, you have to give him his time according to Luca's advice. The mood is Ghost Town. At the stroke of 11pm it is possible to hear the echoing of ventricular calls for silence from local ladies. Instead, from 4.30 am the Camp offers a background of Trieste hoopoes that will give you a good morning

Super friendly and very accommodating, wonderful views and easy to reach Trieste by bus.

We stayed in a motorhome for 3 nights, nice clean toilets/ showers/ washing up area, 5 minutes walk to regular bus service into the city, we also cycled there but it’s a steepish hill back so electric bike would be best, train to Venice is easy and cheap for a great day out. The staff are very helpful. View from the entrance of the city and harbour is amazing

Very nicely located campsite, with lots of greenery, narrow asphalt road. No problem with a small motorhome/bus. You have a great view of Trieste, the sea and the harbor. There is a bus stop to Trieste nearby. Some plots have a direct drinking water connection. Nice hot water in the sink area. Very nice, helpful groundskeeper. He cares a lot about the needs of his guests.

We want to reward the fairness of the manager. After inquiring about the length of our vehicle and considering the road that leads to the campsite, he pointed out to us the possibility of having difficulty reaching the structure, especially if the road was wet. Congratulations: honesty always rewards! ...and maybe we'll stop by and have a glass of wine. Thank you

Camping between Trieste and Villa Opicina. A little dated, but with the services needed for those who don't have excessive demands. About 35 euros per day for a camper, 4 people and a dog. Very kind managers. From the entrance there is a great view of the city. To visit Trieste you can use the bus which stops a few hundred meters away and which passes quite frequently. For those who like walking, the campsite is a stone's throw from the Obelisk where the Napoleonica begins. Personally I don't like campsites with permanent caravans. Unfortunately this is one of those.
