Excellent hotel located in a quiet area, owner attentive to customers, what can I say to marry

Hotel used for a sports trip with friends. One person in the group fell ill 2 days before departure. Even though I called in advance they did not accept the cancellation. We had to pay for the room without using it. A serious lack of respect and honesty on the part of the hotel even though we had booked 7 other rooms.
