Aiuole In Arcidosso

We always happily come back. Homemade, typical, rustic. I could say I've tasted the whole menu!! Very kind, fast and prepared. Really excellent cuisine.

We've been coming to these parts for years now and then we always stop for lunch here. Typical and also historic restaurant of the area, it offers truly excellent traditional Tuscan and mountain dishes, very fast service and friendly and welcoming staff, if you are in the area I highly recommend a stop!

If you are among those who judge a place based on appearances, in all likelihood you would not enter the Aiuole restaurant. Externally, in fact, it does not present itself very well, flaunting the experience of its almost 60 years. But you would be making a fatal mistake. Therefore, our invitation is to overcome the first impression and not miss the opportunity to taste splendid local cuisine. Aiuole, which is also a hotel, is located a few minutes from Arcidosso, in a pleasant, silent natural environment, characterized by chestnut woods. Upon entering, you will find yourself catapulted into an atmosphere of the late 1960s. But the initial alienation is easily overcome when faced with the concreteness of Ugo Quattrini - who has been the owner together with his wife Lionella for over 50 years - who, after having made you sit at the table, begins to tell you (with justified pride) the menu of the day (also well illustrated on paper), making every effort, if requested, to provide appropriate advice. At that moment, you begin to sense, thanks to the scents coming from the kitchen, that a valuable gastronomic experience awaits you. We are located at over 700 meters above sea level, on the slopes of Mount Amiata, where land-based cuisine is made and where chestnuts represent (in season) an unmissable ingredient on the menu. Our visit, at the end of October, was in fact able to appreciate an excellent chestnut polenta with fried sweetbreads, accompanied by fresh ricotta (particularly good). Among the first courses, there are also tagliolini with truffle and sausage and gnudi with ricotta and nettle. Unmissable, together with the chestnut polenta, is the lightness and taste of the fried capon. Alternatively, among other second courses, wild boar with chocolate, rabbit with 22 herbs and suckling pig with Brunello. Among the desserts, ça va sans dire, ricotta with chestnut cream. There is a valid wine list centered on local references but also a more than valid "house wine". Very correct quality-price ratio. A real wellness centre, the Aiuole.

We have been here once several years ago but just recently returned and was thrilled with our meal. The pasta dishes are all outstanding as well as the braised dishes. The chestnut polenta is however an acquired taste...attentive service...this is one of the best meals we had around the Monte Amiata region! Highly recommended!

Una scoperta ricca di contenuti. Una location in mezzo al verde a due passi da Santa Fiora. Eravamo circa 50 persone e la cucina è stata egregiamente in grado di soddisfare tutti i commensali. Acqua in bottiglia e vino rosso della casa di ottima qualità. Abbiamo iniziato con una zuppa di ceci, fagioli e farro, poi gli gnudi di ricotta e gnudi di ricotta e ortica. Infine strozzapreti aglio e pomodoro. Tutto buono e genuino. Per secondo arista al forno, faraona fritta ed uno sfornato di verdura. Una delizia. Infine il dolce ed il caffè. Tutti pienamente soddisfatti. Lo consiglio vivamente.

Ottimo servizio, piatti buonissimi della tradizione, il cinghiale al cioccolato è speciale!

Troppo caro non è mai stato ristrutturato

Ristorante in po’ vintage sia come arredi che come tipologia di servizio. Il proprietario é un personaggio decisamente particolare e contribuisce alla riuscita del pasto. Ottimi i fiocchi di neve, un tipo di gnudi con moltissima ricotta e pochissime verdure, cosi come il latte alla portoghese. Spesa nella media. Uno dei migliori in zona

Eccellenza gastronomica sul m. Amiata. Ampio parcheggio ed altrettanto ampio locale interno. Ugo il gestore sa scegliere con cura le materie prime da presentare destinate alle sapienti mani della cucina. Ristorante storico dove potrete assaggiare sapori autentici e tradizionali nonché alcune gustosissime preparazioni come la polenta dolce fritta con le animelle ed il cinghiale al cioccolato. Tutto ottimo i tortelli i gnudi il cappone fritto le patate arrosto cotte nel lardo qualsiasi cosa chiediate vi lascerà un buon ricordo. Se siete vegani cambiare strada. Ottimo il vino della casa ( rosso di Montalcino) . Consiglio prenotazione.
