Read positive reviews of this wonderful wine bar nestled off the beaten path of tourist traffic. Very friendly manager who helped us and just loved spending a late afternoon at this great spot. From all appearances it seemed a place for locals and just good vibes.

Located under the bell tower of the Duomo in front of the twin towers, I believe it is the highest place in the historic center of San Gimignano. Wide choice of wines. Sitting at the table with an excellent glass of wine accompanied by delicious cured meats and cheeses, all local. At the end you also purchase 3 bottles for evenings with friends. I discovered that Massimo also has a B&B D!mora located right above the restaurant, worth trying, given the central location it is convenient for visiting other Tuscan towns and cities with daily excursions. Hidden Gem! Awesome little “hole in the wall” kinda place…. No pizza or pasta but great wines and mostly organic cheese and meat and bread with a variety of toppings. Great music too….
