20/03/2024: The external panorama leaves you as speechless as the food. Not going there really means missing out on something.
04/03/2024: We chose this place absolutely by chance, because it was lunch time and we had already driven almost four hours on our way to a tourist weekend between L'Aquila and Ascoli. We therefore had no expectations and instead, La Tana degli Orsi turned out to be one of the best trattorias we have ever eaten in, a place from which restaurateurs in our area could draw more than excellent lessons.
A single starter, split in two, which would have been more than enough for a work day's lunch. Local cured meats and cheeses, mozzarella in carrozza, tripe, ventricina, cacio e ova, grilled vegetables, beans (I hope I don't forget anything), all really excellent and very abundant, special mention for the tripe, tasty and well cleaned, truly delicious, in balanced between delicacy and liveliness. A first course each: gnocchi with sausage and truffle, divine, excellent seasoning, but special above all for the consistency and spaghetti alla guitar with pallotte, very tasty and, here too, excellently made pasta.
At this point we were really full, the portions were generous to say the least, and we were sincerely sorry not to be able to taste anything else (I had spotted the pasta and beans which showed a beautiful face). We would go back tomorrow if the place wasn't almost 300 km from our home.
A detail that never hurts: the guys who run the place are very kind and nice. In short, really, if I had to describe the ideal trattoria I would send directly to La Tana degli Orsi to explain myself.
I don't know if they charge two prices for lunch and dinner for the bill, but we ate very well and a lot (things that often don't go together, I skipped dinner!) for an amount that near Bologna it wouldn't even be spent in the canteen, I'll let the images speak for themselves.
What can I say, I hope that this place has the success it deserves and I offer my warmest congratulations to the owners.
