Guné San Frediano In Firenze

Thanks for the experience, the menu is very well looked after, very good, to have a different experience we tried the cocktail pairing, it was unripe and not at the level of food. We explained and we are happy to have been honest. Next time we are happy to try a wine pairing without a doubt because the menu was very good.

Very nice restaurant with an excellent bar next door. The atmosphere was nice, although it was a little quiet for a Friday night, that doesn't bother us as we like privacy, it was possibly due to the time of year. The staff were fantastic. Engaging and thoughtful, making suggestions and recommendations. They were professional and both formal and informal at the right times. We had 8 courses but it seemed like there were much more, the food overall was excellent with two stand out dishes, there was one dish that while nice wasn't as good as the others which is why I've given the food a 4, I guess it's personal taste but I feel in a restaurant like this with what they are aiming for everything should be at that level. A 4.5 would probably be more accurate, great wine list and good cocktails. We recomend this place if you are looking for good food on a special occasion or want to try excellent food and take your time.

We were blown away by the high standard of both food and service at Gune. We were not expecting that level of fine dining during our week in Florence. Easily a Michelin 2-star standard and fantastic value. The wait staff were very professional and it was great to see the owner proudly working the floor and chatting to his happy guests. Not sure when I will be back to Florence next (we live in Sydney) but Gune will be the first restaurant on my list when I do make it back. For any "foodies" out there visiting Florence, Gune San Frediano is a must.

A lovely dinner at this restaurant. It was very quiet that evening. The tables are well spaced apart and the service is impeccable. The restaurant pays a lot of attention to the aesthetics of the table service. Introduction appetisers were beautifully made and presented. The bread service was amazing - everything freshly baked and hot still and presented dramatically. The octopus and leek first course was really tasty and again a lot of thought out into the presentation. Venison was incredible - perfectly cooked. The dessert was the uninspiring compared to what came before but the petit fours were really really good. We had a great dinner here and were surprised it was not more popular.

Warm greeting to divine dessert, each course was better than the last. Staff was professional and attentive without being overbearing or uptight. We were made to feel right at home and enjoyed the creativity and perfect execution of each dish. While provide as compared to other options, a Michelin tasting menu at the prices found here is a welcome surprise. We found it to be an excellent value as compared to many others around the world. Was pleasantly surprised we were able to book dinner for our party of five on the same day. The staff was very accommodating of dietary needs and those in our group that preferred to order ala carte. Would highly recommend Gune to anyone looking for a more upscale experience in a warm environment and lovely decor. As unpretentious yet professional and impeccable presentation as you will find. The location is quite accessible and yet just a bit off the beaten path to make it within reach of those not planning months in advance yet looking for quality that rivals 11 Madison with a comfort that will make you feel right at home.

What an amazing find! Everything is impeccable at Gunè! The space, the food, the staff and owner. The space is clean and modern. But you are treated like a cherished family member. They are warm, friendly and helpful. I had the chefs choice 10 course menu. They are perfect size plates for this type of meal. The bread service and dessert were just as amazing as all the other plates. Come a little early and have a drink in the new cocktail bar attached. The Bar manager is incredible. Give one of her signature drinks a try. Put this on your places to experience when in Florence.

Had the privilege of stopping in for aperitive's at Gune Next Door and served by the amazing mixologist Eleonora. The cocktail list was extensive and delicious! The ambiance was beautiful, and the service was exceptional. Don't miss the opportunity to try Florence's most creative mixologist; you won't be disappointed.

Florence 917378107 We visited Florence for 10 days and dined at Guné on the Saturday night of both weekends. We visit Guné once or sometimes twice a year and this has allowed us to see the continued improvement of the restaurant over that time. Guné, under it's owner NicolA Langone and Mirko Margheri (Head Chef), continue to push the boundaries in presenting the culinary delights of Basilicata in Southern Italy, with those of Tuscany. A warm greeting awaited us from Nicola and the Guné team, in particular Antonella and Eleanora. We started with cocktails and Eleanora produced the most amazing drinks...wow! Our choice from the menu was to go with the 5 course tasing menu and wine flights. The food was absolutely exquisite with such wonderful mouth watering flavours and each plate superbly presented. Every course was described to us as it arrived at the table by either Antonella or Nicola himself. We have uploaded a number of images which cover both our visits to Guné on this trip and we hope these offer a true flavour of a visit to this unique and wonderful restaurant. This is an extremely fine dining experience with Guné already having been acknowledged by Michelin. Surely, in the not too distant future Michelin will have to begin to consider Guné for a Michelin star?
