I love this place which is very welcoming! We always come back with great pleasure, we bring all our friends! They have never disappointed us, it was also greatly appreciated by a French chef 😉. We have now tried all the dishes, and they are all delicious! Atmosphere, food, wine, service - everything is in balance!

I didn't find the Tuscan friendliness there. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff even if a little dry. Price above average.

Fabulous experience with this restarant, we went to Osteria Vecchio Cancello near our hotel and wanted to walk in. But it was fully booked but the staff (I think is the boss) helped to call to their sister restaurant i.e. this one and managed to reserve a table for my family and courteously called a taxi for us to go here. Steak was amazing and nicely cooked, house wine was perfect, desserts were yummy, too. Staff served us well and friendly. Extra bonus to me, the cleaniess of washroom was excellent. Recommended.

We went today, March 24, 2024, for lunch with very dear friends who live outside Florence. We were very happy - friendly staff - very nice environment and excellent food. I thank the staff for a lovely day. Barbara

We went twice in one week! Every dish we had was incredible. So rich in flavor and amazing taste. The staff provided great recommendations and really took care of us. Coming from two New Yorkers, we know good food, and THIS place is amazing. We highly recommend Osteria Vecchio Cancello 2!

Osteria with a welcoming and well-kept environment. Good service. We had steak and side dishes, both very good. If I can give my advice I can say that hacksaw knives for steak are not really good in my opinion, they tear the meat. I would use the smooth, well-sharpened ones.

03/04/2024: TRANSPARENCY TO BE IMPROVED The home-made sweets are generally excellent BUT... little transparency on the products - see Easter doves - purchased from confectionery industries, however well-known, such as IDB, and resold without explicit indication of their external origin. Certainly the price (20 euros/kilo) was far too advantageous and could implicitly indicate the semi-artisan nature of the goods: greater clarity, however, is due to the customers, whether loyal or passing through. We also regret confirming the coldness of the service commented on several times in the reviews.
