Osteria La Golena In Brescello

The food (starter of cold cuts and dumplings, tortelli, stew) was all excellent. The house wine is not bad. The atmosphere is that of a free-range tavern, which combined with the jokingly unfriendly but pleasant service makes it a place to go at least once a year. The parrot (Pipo) at the entrance is a special mascot.

First of all, I want to respond to Silvano Laghetto's review: you invented everything from scratch at the floodplain, there is no fixed tourist menu and they can serve you tons of ham and cured meats. The menu at the Canbia floodplain depends on the seasons and they are all local dishes. tradition made with excellent quality products there is nothing wrong with the floodplain from the price to the food to the owners and the place. Don't listen to reviews made up by people who don't even know what good Italian and regional cuisine means. I recommend everyone to go there with a light heart. Classic village trattoria, with the aromas and tastes of times gone by. Simple but simply spectacular cuisine. I loved everything: the food, the owners and the staff in the room. Thank you. Thanks to all of them for pampering me with their true and genuine cuisine. I will save this moment in the archive of serene moments and the owners in the drawer of the "beautiful people" met during this trip. ♥️

"Homemade" inn with excellent traditional food from pinzini with cured meats (culatello in the lead) and cheeses, to tortelli and gnocchi, which they prepare in many variations and condiments, up to the meat (boar, lamb and tongue stew are to be recommended) .

Typical local dishes, I would like to applaud the perfect fried gnocco as well as the cured meats. Great variety of tortelli, with pumpkin, with guinea fowl etc. etc. I really liked the restaurant room on the upper floor of this ancient building, I will definitely return. Thanks to the Chef, master of the situation with a lot of capable experience.

Rustic atmosphere, home-made food, fantastic menu presentation...

The menu declaimed or, better yet, recited by the innkeeper is worth the trip to the hamlet of Ghiarole di Brescello. The La Golena tavern is located in the floodplain between the Enza river and the main embankment. Very casual place with turtles in the aquarium and parrot in cage on the ground floor, on the first floor kitchen and tables to taste good traditional dishes. All the tortelli in the world, we tasted five different types, I recommend the ones with nails and truffle, but also the ones with artichokes and gorgonzola. The appetizer with fried gnocco and cured meats with homemade sauces and fried polenta was excellent... We shared two second courses: fassona steak and mixed grill. And the desserts aren't bad either. We tasted the tagliatelle cake, typical of Mantua, and the one with amaretti. All good. 30 euros each. It seems honest to me.

Dopo la visita a Brescello ci siamo fermati a mangiare in questa osteria, trovata su questo sito e ci siamo trovati veramente bene, l’oste simpaticissimo e particolare si è mangiato bene spendendo il giusto

Siamo venuti da Milano,attratti dalle recensioni positive,decidiamo di cenare alla Golena, impatto col titolare " WOW!" Gentilissimi e simpaticissimi anche col nostro cagnolino( subito ciotola acqua) cena squisita con un infinità di tortelli fatti in casa e dolci ,anche. Torta fritta fantastica con salumi. Super soddisfatti anche dal prezzo. Ci ritorneremo sicuramente.Buon appetito !
