I found the best I ate in Italy in this restaurant. Very fresh fish, delicious homemade pasta, great choice of wines, dream atmosphere and extraordinary service thanks to the very sweet and competent owner. The desserts are also absolutely recommended. Value for money - price more than correct. Very good!

Do not miss Retroscena! Amazing food and fantastic service. Retroscena was so great, we ate there twice during our three night stay in Ortigia - and we wish we ate there the third!

Cuisine recherchée, grand choix de plats typiques siciliens. Service attentif, un détail apprécié: un plateau avec un peu d'excellente huile d'olive pour y passer son pain.

What a treat this restaurant was! Nicely decorated with attention to detail. We arrived without a reservation and they were eager to make room for us. They have a regular menu and then daily specials menu. We had the arancini and special salad with arugula, peaches, avacado, and goat cheese. Both were a delight! For entrees we ordered the octopus and the lobster pasta. Both entrees were excellent. For dessert we had the sponge cake with ricotta icing another successful delicious dish. there’s no AC inside, however with the door open it was manageable. from start to finish this was a solid restaurant that gave an upscale atmosphere without the stuffy vibe! Highly recommend!!!

We came here for a romantic dinner and were not disappointed. The food was wonderfully prepared and delicious. I was impressed with the fine glassware and table settings. We were very happy to be able to sit outside and the service was perfect.

We found the Ristorante Retroscena quite by accident, but its delicious looking menu and lovely setting turned out to be perfect for a really good meal. The food was superb (really good fresh local food served with love and attention to detail), and our waitress was delightful. I would highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a special evening without breaking the bank.
