Yesterday on the occasion of Valentine's Day my wife and I had lunch in this place, we were pleasantly surprised by the truly excellent quality food, the generous portions accompanied by an excellent red wine, the beautiful small place that are always the best, from the friendliness and kindness of the owner who is always attentive without ever being intrusive, the price in line with what we ate, we will certainly return and I highly recommend it.

Locanda storica a due passi dal Castello Ducale che fu teatro di giornate buie per l’Italia durante la Seconda guerra mondiale. Alla Taverna si mangia bene in un ambiente raccolto e familiare, dove le foto appese e altri ricordi testimoniano l’apprezzamento di cui il locale gode da lungo tempo. Cucina della tradizione accompagnata da una cantina che fa onore ai produttori locali. Qui le pallotte cacio e ove sono così grandi e buone che vengono servite come secondo, e non antipasto. Una sosta sicura in un borgo affascinante.

One of those places you discover on a late morning on January 1st, and this new year gives you a fantastic food and wine experience. We were walking through the streets of Crecchio (a village that you must visit at least once in your life) and passing by here, we were inspired by the name. Very, very nice and characteristic place (but with few seats, so I highly recommend booking). The menu is interesting, with many platters of typical cured meats and traditional dishes (the owner brings out an extra prize menu, a lamb cif & ciaf which had been cooking for 3/4 hours, superb!) He surprises us again with some potatoes fried but hand cut (which we order twice...) Excellent wine list! Super recommended!

Cena in 4 di sabato sera. Tutto magnifico. Antipasti molto buoni, sia i salumi sia i formaggi. Pallotte cacio e ova sensazionali, tra le migliori mai mangiate. E poi arriva la chitarra reale che era semplicemente sublime. Per continuare agnello arrosto superlativo che abbiamo apprezzato tutti. Da non dimenticare un ottimo Montepulciano di una cantina locale, apprezzatissimo e davvero gradevole. Infine Tiramisù e biscotto al cioccolato e cioccolato bianco spettacolari entrambi. CHAPEAU! CENA FANTASTICA, DA RIFARE SICURAMENTE. CONSIGLIATISSIMO

Posto carinissimo. Location veramente bella ed incastonata ai piedi del castello di Crecchio. Qualità del cibo ottima il tutto accompagnato da un eccellente vino.
Molto gentili e professionali anche i gestori del locale. Prezzo onesto.
Gita piacevole, ci torneremo sicuramente.
