06/11/2023: Dreadful experience at Palazzo Avino! I would not normally write a review, but my partner and I had such a poor experience, I had to warn you all. We brought our service animal who is a small 48 lb (22kg) golden retriever and our overnight stay generally went without issue, although the staff were cold and they couldn't supply a clothing steamer as the hotel only had one. As soon as we, however, checked out, we were kicked out of the hotel. Why you may ask? We wished to stick around to enjoy the property but were told from the reservation's manager that we were not allowed to remain on the grounds because of our "large" dog, citing safety concerns for the owner's small dachshund. Keep in mind that trained service animals are viewed as assistive technology/medical equipment, not as a pet. We were told that they "made an exception and that the dog could only remain in the room during the stay," which they did not communicate up until we checked out. As my service animal this also meant that I technically would have to remain in the room as well or else risk being without my service animal. Our pleas for their understanding did not make any difference to the staff as despite our service animal being professionally trained, having the kindest demeanor and being on a leash at all times, we were not allowed to stay on the premises. We suspect that the owner's dog could be the one causing safety concerns as he barked incessantly in a back room when they noticed our service animal. This hotel's practices are very concerning and we can only hope that the hotel's management takes this accessibility issue seriously and does not further discriminate against those with disabilities.

02/04/2024: All good, had home-made pasta with mussels - very fresh and aromatic tomatoes in the salad. Great olive oil. Orange juice was also freshly pressed. Overall high-quality ingredients. Also has a bunch of vegan options and clear labeling of potential allergens.

03/04/2024: AWFUL experience to put it mildly. The first courses are almost inedible and overcooked, the mozzarella is tasteless, and the value for money is unforgettable. Place for tourists! Driven by the apparent positive reviews, we decided to go to the restaurant after having called and attempted to make a reservation which was denied because "we don't take reservations, come directly to the place". When you arrive at the restaurant, the sign in English says "please wait at the entrance". And so it was. We wait about half an hour without anyone showing up and finally the waitress arrives to seat us. We ordered buffalo mozzarella with cherry tomatoes, and two first courses. The mozzarella, which arrived at the table and magically transformed into three morsels of just 30g each, was completely tasteless. The tomato consistent with the mozzarella, the only flavor that could be felt in that dish was the basil pesto which, driven by gourmet desire, seasoned the tomatoes themselves! Atrocious. I would like to rant at length about the first courses but it's enough to just say that the ravioli filled with fish were so full of a cream-based cream that they couldn't even be seen on the plate. Same thing for the lemon tagliolini, whose flavor wittily challenged even the worst palates on the globe. Ah, perhaps I forget to add that the pasta was not overcooked but more so. The barricaded wine is discreet. All of this (including a bottle of water) for the modest sum of around €65. Summed up in a few words, this place is the reincarnation of the typical restaurants that attract tourists.

06/04/2024: We stayed 5 nights in the villa and loved everything about it! The magical place, the room on the sea in which we slept excellently, the kindness and the very high quality of service of the hosts and the delicious restaurant with high quality products! We would definitely come back to this little paradise!

05/04/2024: Excellent hotel on the seaside. 20 mins walk from the Amalfi port. Breakfast and dinner are complementary and you also have your own access to the sea. The rooms are nice too with their own balconies where you can bathe in the sun.

05/04/2024: For a quick pizza in Ravello. Also for takeaway. Margherita price 7 euros. Convenient location. The lady is very welcoming.

12/03/2024: Had the pleasure of dining at this beautiful restaurant on our last night in Ravello - what a way to celebrate our travels! The service was attentive, kind and generous. The food was incredible and they comfortably catered for my dietary restrictions (gluten, dairy and egg free). In fact, they even had a gluten free, freshly baked bread that they offer at the start of the meal - this never happens in my experience! The cocktails were delicious and it was all finished off with complimentary Limoncello. Beautiful setting with soft lighting and vintage decor. Highly recommend.

02/01/2024: Ritorno ogni estate in questo ristorante con una location pazzesca e dove ho sempre mangiato davvero bene….. credo che stavolta sia stata l’ultima . Un calo pazzesco in tutto. Ho sempre degustato il loro cavallo di battaglia, tartare di tonno magistralmente preparata al tavolo dal maitre con ingredienti ricercato e sapientemente calibrati. Al momento dell’ ordine l’ho richiesta e mi è arrivata una banalissima ed insipida tartare stracolma di cipolla che copriva il sapore del tonno. Ho chiesto alla cameriera e mi ha detto che avrebbe provveduto a far realizzare quella da me richiesta, dopo qualche minuto al tavolo arriva il nuovo maitre, che dice che la mia richiesta è fuori menù non è possibile realizzarla. Ordino poi altro piatto che era eccelso nel loro menù, taglioni con tartare di astice, alla modica cifra di 44 euro, ed è arrivata una pasta insipida . Alla domanda del come mai non avesse alcun sapore, mi è stato risposto che trattasi di piatto delicato…. Peccato, davvero…. Ormai possono essere solo i turisti stranieri .

29/10/2023: Very basic food, and overall, not exciting. The lamb chops were tough, and the desert was commercial. The home made Spaghetti was good. The weather was cold, so we sat inside. Hence, we did not get the charming views . Inside, the atmosphere, with the bright light, was rather harsh. One positive thing to mention is that the serve staff were attentive and friendly.

11/10/2023: Panorama bellissimo, purtroppo lo spazio sul terrazzino che affaccia sul mare è piuttosto piccolo ci vanno solo pochi tavoli per cui consiglio, se volete cenare fuori, di prenotare per tempo. Il personale è molto efficiente e gentile il cibo è buono anche se il risotto, nel nostro caso, non è stato a livello degli altri piatti. Riguardo ai costi, si superano facilmente i 60 euro a persona anche mangiando solo antipasto e primo, ma siamo a Ravello! Il locale risulta un pò datato, una ristrutturazione gli darebbe sicuramente un aspetto migliore. Bellissimi i due leoni in marmo rosa all'ingresso del ristorante.
