28/10/2023: Besides being a beautiful hotel it is a historical monument! The owner, Mr. Martino was super friendly and spent a lot of time explaining the history of Isola. It was a nice, interesting stay also from a historical point of view.

01/10/2023: Arriving late in the evening on motorbikes, five of us ask if they have something for us to sleep and eat and fortunately Mr Maurizio, the owner of this ancient post office, welcomes us with open arms. He puts us up in a spectacular attic. At dinner we eat an appetizer based on bresaola, cheeses and the famous pizzicherò which we found good but much more delicate than the Valtellina classics. Genuine wine and homemade desserts. Sweet and savory for breakfast without quantity limits. Excellent value for money. Courteous and kind staff. Congratulations to Mr. Maurizio who has expertly run this ancient inn for decades. I highly recommend it.

11/02/2024: Perfect place!!! We recommend everyone to visit!! Everything is sooooo delicious and appetizing!!! Wonderful and helpful staff!!!! We found like-minded people, and that’s worth a lot these days!!!!!! We highly recommend!!!! We will definitely come back!!!!!!!!

16/03/2024: We went to this bar after skiing. The bartender didn't even ask us for our order at the counter and even gave priority to customers who arrived after us. Once we waited a few minutes he graced us with his attention by telling us that the place was full. We wanted to stay outside. There were two free tables, one of which was already clean and the other still to be cleared (3 glasses and 1 saucer). Telling him that we could stay outside, he replied "guys I only have two hands". I don't think it's difficult to seat 4 customers and make them sit for a moment as usual. Please note that we are a non-Italian group. After realizing that they simply didn't want to serve us and leaving the bar, they set about clearing the table. Really disappointed. Madesimo is a wonderful place and I am sure that this bar does not reflect the hospitality of the local people. We will never come again.

31/07/2023: We had a lovely meal at this place. We booked in advance and when we came we were taken to a table were there were some dishes on the table already and a few more was served right away. The concept here is that the antipasti is served right away and then the chef comes to explain what you can order. The interior is a bit weird – the place is a dark, old hut with a couple of levels but with lots of different artifacts to decorate the place. And with a fireplace it turned out to be a very cozy place. We decided to have some gnocchi to start with and the chef made two different types for us. As a main meal we decided to have meat – the meat was very tender but maybe a bit salty for me. It was served with some caramelized onions and a lovely local polenta. After the meal we got some cookies and biscuits and we also got a strong digestive drink. All in all a fun, informal dinner with a lovely bottle of Sforzato di Valtellina. The meal was about 140 € (I think the wine was about 40 €) to give you an indication of the price level.
