13/03/2024: We went to this place for lunch yesterday in the center of Capurso, after having read several reviews and, to tell the truth, having found few places open for lunch on a Tuesday nearby. We stumbled upon this place practically relying on the reviews. But alas, as soon as we arrived there Abroad there was a shocking smell of fried oil that was indescribable, certainly due to the lack of adequate filters, but, taking courage, we entered and came across the same smell of fried oil. Now we entered and were welcomed by the only person in the entire restaurant, that is, the owner, and after he made us sit down. Looking at the place, to tell the truth, not bad, a typical old place with high vaults and chianche floors, we calmed down. But that wasn't the case because, first of all, we were never provided with menus as it was an exclusively à la carte, and even more so we were never even told what starters would arrive. But as they say, hope is the last to die and we entrusted ourselves to the good host. With the hope that he would bring us some local things like platters of cheeses and cured meats, mozzarella ricotta and something like that. But none of this begins to bring us stewed turnips, omelettes made only with eggs, flakes of polenta and breaded mozzarella of sure Discount origin, a plate of mushrooms a plate of rice, potatoes and mussels which still looked like it was from the fridge because it was all still a block, also because it takes time to cook a pan of potatoes, rice and mussels, a plate of peppered mussels and mussels which are not very fresh and a potato pie with the smell of octopus. And it should be noted that it was said and specified that among the guests there was one who didn't eat seafood at all. After all this we went directly to the second one where we asked for a mixed meat grill with side dishes of baked potatoes and salad. But we only received a small lump of meat with little variety of meat and above all not enough to even divide it by the number of people sitting at the table, 4 to be precise. Not even being able to divide it to make a small piece each for each type of meat present as shown in the photo. We received 3 pieces of Norcia sausage, two rolls of pig's trotter of dubious freshness, some bowlers and stop cutlets. We are still waiting for the side dishes. However, after all this, we paid what we asked for and in the afternoon we stopped to eat some good stuffed panzerotti on the Bari seafront. I hope it was just a sporadic episode that happened to us by chance.
