02/04/2024: We arrived without booking and within an aperitif the long table was set for us in the first of the two rooms available in the restaurant, which is warm and welcoming. The second room, overlooking a small external window, is perhaps even more characteristic and intimate.
The owners welcomed us with kindness and helpfulness and followed us in choosing the menu: we had tagliolini with pheasant ragù and a cheek stew, both very tasty and accompanied by excellent wine.
We had a good time and honestly, despite some reviews perhaps saying so, I didn't really have the feeling of a place "for tourists", but rather it seemed like a place where the traveler can refresh himself and taste traditional local recipes with the certainty of being pampered.

31/03/2024: Oh my gosh this place is amazing! We were looking for something for dinner and this restaurant was suggested to us. We weren’t sure at first because the menu looked a little fancy for what we were looking for, but this was some of the best food I’ve had in a long time. The group of us had a couple pasta dishes including beef ragu, bean soup, and a few desserts. Everything was spectacular and probably the ragu might be the best pasta dish I’ve ever tasted. The environment was lovely and the staff was so kind to us. Definitely coming back for more! There is a free parking lot below the restaurant that made it easy to walk to as well.

05/03/2024: Excellent rib, 2kg portion for three people, more than the right quantity. Tasty pecorino fondue appetizer, side dish of baked potatoes and the inevitable green beans in the flask. Definitely a stop if in the area! Correct price and quality.
16/02/2024: Great grilled meats. Service was a little overwhelmed by the lunch crowd, no problem with parking.

The service is also great.
The pizza and the in-house cake are highly recommended.

02/01/2024: It's a nice place, much bigger than it looks. They were kind. We had a quick lunch so not much to add. The food was as I would expect. However the ham and cheese sandwich was ironically outstanding for a ham and cheese. Go and enjoy.

The locals are so friendly and welcome you. It all happens in the bar from morning until night, a real local hub and not all about alcohol! The local kids come in and buy their sweets & ice cream etc. A real treat to see.
Fabulous coffee & pastries in the morning & super pizza snacks etc during the day
Great wee stop over for cyclists!
We stay in the village for 2-3 weeks and just feel part of it.

04/10/2023: This restaurant experience was our favorite in Tuscany. It’s a small family-run gem up in the hills of a tiny historic village called Mensano. You feel like you discovered it once you get there. It’s comfortable and not over adorned. Beautiful in its simplicity. The service was kind and efficient. The wine was the “house” and it was perfect and elegant, not expensive. The food was the ultimate highlight. So so so delicious - the hearty Tuscan vegetable or tomato soups we so good! I’m sure because of the quality of the ingredients. And the braised wild boar dissolved in my mouth. Clearly made with love by the dear woman and her brother who own it. I felt all my troubles dissolve as we enjoyed our dinner here, having a great conversation with the owner Roberto - in broken but understandable English- about his food, his family, his story. We left there full in our bellies and our hearts.
