31/03/2024: The Easter lunch at the Baita della Pista Nera, close to the historic slope that hosted the skiing World Cup champions in 1994, was an experience that I would define as exceptional. The festive atmosphere could already be felt from the welcome, with the splendidly furnished cabin and the fireplace creating a warm and familiar atmosphere, despite the winter landscape outside the windows. The Easter menu was a true gastronomic journey through the flavors of the mountains, interpreted with a mastery that only a gourmet cuisine can offer. Starting lunch with two different appetizers, the liver pâté foam and the salty tongue with chicory tips, immediately highlighted the refinement of the dishes and the ability to combine traditional flavors with touches of innovation. The first courses, the decomposed lasagnette with white rabbit ragù and the risotto with schioppettino creamed with montasio, were both masterpieces of balance and taste. The choice of high quality ingredients and their careful preparation made every bite a discovery. Then moving on to the second courses, the roast goat with potatoes and the medallion of pork cooked at low temperature in a crust with artichokes, it was like continuing a culinary journey that never ceased to surprise with the depth of the flavors and the perfect cooking of the meat. Concluding lunch with a millefeuille with sparkling cream and berries was the icing on the cake of an already unforgettable experience, with the sweetness and freshness of the berries marrying perfectly with the creaminess of the cream. Everything was accompanied by a wonderful red wine, which with its bouquet was able to further enhance the dishes served, giving this Easter lunch a sense of completion and refinement. Spending Easter in this way, among the snow-capped mountains of the Dolomites, with dear friends like Nicola and Filippo, was a precious gift. The hospitality, the quality of the dishes, the unique atmosphere of the cabin, with its fireplace and fine wood, created an experience that was much more than a simple meal: it was an opportunity to celebrate friendship , the beauty of nature and five-star culinary art.

26/03/2024: The farmhouse is located in old Sappada and also offers the possibility of staying in the apartments on the upper floors for €15 per night per person. We were here for lunch, the cuisine is simple and genuine, everything was very good from the appetizers such as the cold cuts to the venison carpaccio (exceptional) to the first courses, I pampered myself with the dumplings in broth and my children with the tagliatelle always with meat sauce deer while my husband had goulash. Excellent and plentiful dishes, I highly recommend trying it.

23/09/2023: We had an incredible morning at Piani del Cristo Mountain Hut after witnessing the sunrise over Peralba and spending the night at Calvi Refuge. This charming mountain refuge in Sappada exceeded our expectations. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by a cheerful young lady and a friendly waiter. They served us a delightful breakfast consisting of two croissants with local jam and two cappuccinos with the creamiest and most delicious foam.Surrounded by the lush greenery of the mountains, it's truly heartwarming to know that places like Piani del Cristo exist, capable of evoking such emotions. We're already looking forward to our next visit. Highly recommended!

08/02/2024: Posto incantevole, il rifugio é molto curato e pulitissimo. Il pane e la pasta vengono preparati dalla cuoca. Abbiamo pranzato con tris di canederli, tagliolini fatti a mano con sugo di cacciagione. tutto ottimo e staff gentilissimi.

17/03/2024: Di solito termino volentieri la giornata scistica presso questo rifugio e con soddisfazione mangio alcuni piatti anche se semplici ma ben preparati. Ma oggi credo che qualcosa sia cambiato... terrazza disordinata e mancanza di attenzione alla sala. Clienti che aspettano da oltre 1 ora per essere serviti e tavoli lasciati sporchi. Poca gente e personale xhe gira a vuoto . Speriamo sia solo una giornata sfortunata altrimenti velocemente anche questo rifugio sulle piste di Sappada verrà abbandonato da tutti . Era l'unico rimasto sulle piste. Le prossime volte andrò in altri locali in Paese dove effettivamente si possono trovare delle eccellenze. Quelle si che valgono. Peccato per gli sforzi di promoturismo quando il privato non ci riesce proprio.

20/02/2024: Ci siamo presentati con tranquillità a questo ristorante per pranzo, data la buona reputazione di cui esso gode. Abbiamo apprezzato la posizione panoramica, con tavoli all’aperto che, se il tempo fosse stato meno incerto, avrebbero consentito il pasto in vista delle cime che cingono Sappada; ma abbiamo apprezzato anche l’atmosfera accogliente degli interni in legno. E, naturalmente, la cortesia del personale. In tre adulti e una bambina, abbiamo ordinato quattro secondi: lombata di Angus con contorno di “jacked potatoes”, salsiccia spianata, frico alle patate e zucchine, gulasch di vitello; questi ultimi tre piatti tutti con contorno di polenta. Poi tre dessert: due cheese cake alle fragole, e una Linzer tort. Tutto ciò che abbiamo gustato, senza eccezione, è stato eccellente. Non ultimo elemento di apprezzamento, il conto ragionevole: tutto quanto elencato, acqua e un quarto di Cabernet, per 95 euro.
