We were walking and wanted to get out of the center of the tourist restaurants, a lady from Siena told us that Il Pulcino was a place with excellent food, and a very good price, that Italians from Siena usually eat here. The best food, they welcomed us with a big smile, quality service and you are left wanting to try it all. My friend ate Rissoto with asparagus and it was of very high quality, I ate Mediterranean salad and beef with tartufo, the rest spaghetti with mushrooms and other varieties of salad. All quality, highly recommended

We are glad that we came across this facility during our walk. The cuisine, the staff, the atmosphere and the dominant guests are local. They are definitely fighting to preserve "locality", under the onslaught of tourists. I wish them success in preserving authenticity.

Good restaurant to eat a simple pasta dish for lunch, not expensive but very good. Pleasant service and atmosphere. The only downside in the bill is the cutlery and bread billed except we did not have any bread at the service. Sometimes you forget, but otherwise everything is great!

Location close to the centre. Excellent first and second courses. Very welcoming and courteous staff. Good pastry shop. Low prices. You can't find better than this in Siena. To be recommended

23/05/2024: Excellent pizza and service. My wife and I ordered the cacio e pepe and the campagnola - both were delicious! The crust was so delicious with the mother yeast they use. I would highly recommend having a pizza here.
23/05/2024: If you like pizzas with a thick, crispy crust, this is the place for you. There are many delicious varieties to choose from. You can sit outside in the cozy flair of the old town, but it's not uncomfortable inside either. Friendly and fast service.

10/02/2024: Siamo stati un sabato di febbraio. Il ristorante è fuori dalla confusione di Montepulciano, si trova infatti sulla strada tra Chianciano e Montepulciano. Abbiamo preso una ottima fiorentina in due da 1,4 kg consigliati dalla titolare, una signora francese molto preparata e ormai radicata nel territorio. Oltre alla Fiorentina buoni gli antipasti e i primi che hanno preso i nostri amici. Carta dei vini davvero notevole. Conto giusto, a parte l’acqua, 11 euro per due bottiglie è troppo. Ad ogni modo se torno da quelle parti vado a mangiare lì, vale la pena. Ne ho provati altri negli anni scorsi e non sono all’altezza di questo ristorante
