Rustic but very welcoming environment, the owner is an excellent host. If I were to return to those parts I would definitely go back, very good food and superlative red wine

Charming place but everything else a disaster: moldy grilled pecorino... upon my complaints I was told that it is its typical flavour. 2 sausages with beans of which a dried one is put in the beans... 1/2 wine red and 1 mineral 48 euros ... I think no comments are needed. Very bad

If you find yourself in Scansano, go to Grottone, a typical Maremma restaurant.
We started with the typical appetizer, namely Tuscan crostini, continuing with the first courses recommended by the friendly owner of the restaurant, tortelli with meat sauce and tagliatelle with truffle.
Homemade sweets.
Local wines can also be purchased.

Ancient historic trattoria, the owner is also a chef and cooks traditional Maremma dishes. There is a wide choice of appetizers in oil, various cold cuts and cheeses. After 2 days in which we ate in places that were, to say the least, terrible in terms of quality, price and above all courtesy... finally an exceptional place: amazing homemade ravioli and tagliatelle with excellent sauces (porcini mushrooms, truffle and wild boar...
Meat (steak and Florentine) very good.
Kind, courteous and helpful owners (we had 15 people, adults and children): very welcome!

It's not amazing but it's not terrible either, from the looks of it we thought it was something more traditional, so we went, but it's a bar that serves food.

Il locale è sicuramente accogliente ed è quello che desideri visitando un borghetto come Scansano, come pure Ivano, il titolare che è molto affabile. Il menù ed il modo di cucinare sono rimasti un po' agli anni '80, ma sicuramente è un posto dove si può degustare un tagliere e assaggiare un buon morellino. Fegatini e coniglio molto forti come gusto.

Nach 10 Jahren besuchten wir wieder einmal das Il Grottone und fanden es wiederum wunderbar. Ivano und sein Team sind tolle Gastgeber in einem authentischen Ort. Die Vorspeisen, die Pastas und la Gitarra waren sehr gut. Wir kommen wieder
