Recommended place for a visit, which will then turn into a routine given the excellent experience you will have. The valuation is high, but when you are pampered and looked after in this way by a great homeowner like Lye there is little left to add. LOCATION In the centre, behind Via Visconti di Modrone, you can glimpse two dimly lit shop windows. The place is very simple, perhaps it would need a small renovation to align with today's standards but that's also what makes it so special, making you immediately feel at home and not in a more "comfortable" restaurant. SERVICE The courses come out at the right pace, following a Spanish philosophy for which dinner is a moment of conviviality, so don't think of having dinner in an hour because everything is a little more diluted, a sign that the paellas are prepared in any case moment, and you can feel it! Lye is an excellent host, who knows how to guide you well in choosing the menu and willingly stops to chat at the table, but without being intrusive. MENU Really excellent. Tapas that are around €8 each are very generous, with a very right amount of raw material that justifies the price. In fact, be careful not to overdo it like we did, because they are particularly filling! We then opted for a mixed paella for two people (meat, fish and vegetables) as per the Valencian tradition, and we were amazed both by the large portion and by the excellent quality of the raw materials and the truly perfect cooking. Without a doubt one of the best I've ever eaten, Spain included (which is significant). I read reviews around of paellas that aren't up to par: it's certainly also a question of the individual dish which can turn out more or less well, more or less burnt, but ours was a 10. Good Sangria, not the best but with the advantage that it can be drunk like water, and the owner knows it well (17 euros per litre). I COUNT Given that the two of us ordered for at least 3 people, with Lye doing his utmost to get us a doggy bag with leftovers from the paella (excellent the following day!), we went out spending just over €100, with the consumption of this that you see in the photo and 2 liters of sangria (+water and place settings). The only negative note is perhaps the cover price, which amounting to €2.50 per diner I think is perhaps a little unjustified for what is served (nothing), but it is understandable now given the high management costs that a place in such a central area of ​​Milan must certainly pay off. For the dinner consumed and the area of ​​Milan in which we were, the bill was more than honest, reiterating that you can have dinner easily spending 35/40 euros each and filling yourself up more than abundantly.
