22/10/2023: The aubergine and ricotta appetizier is absolutely sensational! The aubergine is so soft, the creamines of the ricotta, the sweetness of the roasted cherry tomatoes and the hints of basil are an unforgettable combination! After tring it, I had to return to have it again. The second time, the aubergine came undercooked so I asked them to cook it a little further. They were really prompt and actually brought me a new one which was as perfect as I rememberd, so many thanks for that.
Also tried the cube roll - it's actually a steak- also perfectly cooked, melt in your mouth, just lacking a bit of salt. It comes by itself, so we were recommended the steamed vegetables - which come with a cilantro flavoured sauce. Personally, I didn't feel they pair well, as the vegetables are too watery and not salted at all, so they just dilute the fllavour of the steak.
The turbot is also very tasty, but again didn't think the combination with the lentils- a little too robust and too vinegry for the delicate taste of the turbot is the best choice.
The beef diafragm was good but doesn't compare to the cube roll. Again, a little more salt needed.
In what concerns the service, it depends. The first time we asked for the aubergine-1 portion, although we were 2 at the table they didn't bring us 2 plates, so we can share, the second time they did. If you sit on the side closed terrace, there is no coperto fee, if you sit on the otside terrace it's a 2 or 2.5 euro/ person.
All in all, it's the second best restaurant in Costa Rei.
Loved the fact that it's really quiet, there's no music and you can find different food compared to the rest of Costa Rei restaurants.
