After a few years I returned to this place and I must say that yesterday's carbonara was stellar!!!!! Stratospheric stuff! People, if you pass by Castel Sant'Angelo, stop!!!! Well done!!!

I returned to Fraschetta after several years of not coming to Rome. The place has been renovated but the atmosphere is still top. Even though the place was full, the service was always friendly and helpful. The gricia was really powerful but perhaps a little too greasy from the bacon fat. Abbacchio top. I was a little disappointed by the oxtail which I remembered being cooked differently. To try.

Perhaps among the most beautiful and welcoming places in Rome, even if in a highly tourist area it maintains a typical tavern feel. And the dishes... and what can I say! They are fantastic "Because the Amatriciana knows that you have a white shirt" Come on

Location spartana, da Fraschetta. Si trova proprio di fronte a Castel Sant'Angelo. Cucina romana. Ho mangiato la migliore carbonara degli ultimi tempi. Se non fosse stato per la location avrei dato il massimo punteggio. Prezzo onesto e in linea con il valore di quello che ho mangiato.

Siamo tornati dopo qualche anno e non possiamo che confermare l’ottima cucina romana, il buon servizio e la massima disponibilità. Nonostante sia un locale molto turistico, il personale si prende cura del cliente senza trattarlo come un semplice ‘numero’ Ormai quando mi trovo su Roma è tappa fissa.

11/05/2024: Guest for dinner. Small, welcoming, well-furnished place. Punctual and kind service. The owner is very present in the room and available, both for clarifications and for small changes to the dishes ordered. The menu overall is typically Roman. The mixed appetizer is noteworthy in which a very tender tripe stands out among the various courses offered. In the first courses, the strozzapreti with bacon are notable. In terms of quantity, these two dishes would already be enough to satiate the customer. Out of curiosity I also tried the finger warm embrace which was really excellent. The desserts are good. The place is truly worth a visit.
