Marigold In Roma

Absolutely gorgeous breakfast and amazing flat white. Coffee is speciality and oat milk is available too! I was so excited to come here before my trip to Rome and it was certainly worth the wait!

Sensational breakfast just outside the center. Great omelet, fried egg and sourdough bread. Delicious café variations.

Loved it. Table water goes a long way. Service was also polite and perfectly attentive. The view into the kitchen is intriguing and although the space is bare its relaxing and nice to sit in. The cabinet items all look good enough to add on after a full breakfast order. My experience of which was only good, variety on the menu and a reasonable portion size for the price point. Coffee tasted of single origin - fruity (but could be wrong).

Nice place with speciallity coffe! Really loved it! Also had a bread with butter and cheese as a brekfast and totally recommend it! Will come back, next time in Rome

I have been here many times and the food is always great. However, it is a TRULY SHAME that they don’t have a priority policy for people with special needs. I am 8 months pregnant and they absolutely refused to put me in the waiting list (when I called 30 minutes before arriving) so I would not wait that much in line. I even tried asking when I arrived if I could get priority and they again refused; and then refused a third time when somebody offered their position on the waiting list for me, explaining the obvious reasons why I should not be standing and waiting. Hope they improve on this!

The breakfast here was very tasty! The only downside was that they didn’t serve any fresh juice and the latte we ordered was lukewarm.

Lovely spot in Ostiense, with northern European vibes and pared down furnishings that reflect their point of view: simple, organic, seasonal and locally-sourced ingredients for healthy breakfasts and brunches. If you're looking for the brunches of American diners or British fry-ups, keep looking. This is about a clean palate, with in-house baking, their own small roast coffee, and consciencious cooking. For Rome, this is a unique spot, the menu changes weekly, and the service was lovely and friendly. We had an omelette with prosciutto (cotto, it should be specified on the menu) and cheese, sunnyside-up fried eggs with wilted kale, both came with toasted home made sourdough bread, and we also ordered a pat of house-made grass-fed butter (which is extra). We went for a mid-week late breakfast and had no problems finding a seat, but I understand that it would get crowded on weekends. While it's not over-the-top, farm-fresh quality organic ingredients do come at a premium, which should not be surprising. (Note to the house: it would help to have sweetener available, not only sugar. I don't think it would compromise the food philosophy).

Excellent place to have brunch. It has a very attractive menu, the food is good and they appreciate good coffee. Although you cannot reserve, it is a place with excellent service and is very welcoming.

Domenica scorsa ho avuto modo di provare il "brunch" del Marigold. Il locale è davvero carino, minimale, in stile tipico caffetteria danese o londinese. Il personale è stato gentilissimo e all'inizio ero davvero entusiasta. I piatti che passavano vicino a noi sembravano curati, ma già a una prima occhiata le porzioni si presentavano molto piccole. Ho ordinato un grilled cheese (15 euro), letteralmente due fette di pane e formaggio con quattro verdure sottoaceto, e un piattino di shakshuka servito in un mini padellino con due uova (salsa al pomodoro speziata e due uova a 15 euro). In totale, con acqua, caffè e dolce, abbiamo speso in due 63 euro. I prezzi personalmente li abbiamo trovati ingiustificabili neanche con l'utilizzo di ingredienti di alta qualità. In particolare siamo rimasti delusi dalla mancanza di trasparenza, infatti non c'è nessuna indicazione sulla provenienza e la qualità degli ingredienti utilizzati, il che rende difficile giustificare i prezzi elevati. Non stiamo parlando di un ristorante con tovagliato e attenzioni che inevitabilmente incidono anche sul prezzo complessivo di un piatto, ma di una caffetteria bistrot. Mi dispiace di aver avuto un'esperienza negativa in questo bistrot. Il locale è carino e il personale è gentile, ma le porzioni minuscole e i prezzi esagerati non mi permettono di consigliarlo. Mi è sembrato di essere stata presa in giro dalla superficialità di chi pensa che basti una bella presentazione e "instagrammabilità" per giustificare prezzi assurdi.
