“Menu a Sorpesa” is a great concept which transforms a meal into a real experience, and here it was for a very fair and decent price.
We enjoyed all the dishes served. We loved the informal atmosphere as well as the unique, eclectic design. We felt right at home in this family run eating place and want to give special thanks to Filippo for his friendliness and hospitality.
We highly recommend Osteria del Matto at Piazza del Mercato in Spoleto. If you can’t find it there, just ask locals as we did:)

Impeccable, kind and professional service. Terni cuisine dishes prepared with loving passion.
Price absolutely in line with the quality offered. Certainly worth a visit, highly recommended.

Happy discovery of the Osteria del Matto in Spoleto, where we tried typical dishes cooked with passion and skill, so as to be excellent and very pleasant. The environment is welcoming and warm enough to make anyone feel at ease, I highly recommend it for those who are looking for real and sincere cuisine in Spoleto!!!

WE drove up the mountainy to find an old monastery that was converted into a unique restaurant overlooking the town of Spoleto. The view was spectacular. We then met the owner, Matto, who offered us some wine and snacks. We then went into the kitchen where we met Matto's mother and sister. our instructors. We had a "hands on" lesson by this Italian nonna. We made a chicken dish, a rabbit dish and rolled out pasta while drinking numerous glasses of wine. Afterwards, we sat down to enjoy a meal of the dishes we cooked and many other fresh homemade items that nonna and the sister had prepared. It was a fun experience and we had a ball.

Locale caratteristico in quanto a genialità dell'atmosfera. Il matto padrone di casa simpatico ed accattivante presenta un menù fisso decisamente buono in quantità, un pò meno in qualità, ma comunque gustoso. Servizio più che buono. Simpatia e gentilezza la fanno da padrona per una serata informale.
