Honestly the best ice cream in Lucca! Nice, clean and very pleasant environment! Only flaw? I go there often and I got both a cup and a cone but the ice cream put in is not much 🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲

Excellent ice cream shop, for me the best in Lucca, with delicious, high quality products. In addition to this, a welcoming place and very kind staff.

Pizzeria La Grotta

04/02/2024: A rustic place, well furnished, not very large inside, located on the main road. It also serves as a bar and grocery store; the pizzeria room is separate from the rest, even if you have to pass through the shop to enter the pizzeria. In short, a multifunctional room! 🤣 That Saturday almost all the tables were occupied, so I imagine the service was slow for this reason, but we waited 3/4 of an hour before being served :/ Furthermore, the starter arrived so slowly that my friend thought it was finished after the first two courses, so she ate a lot of bread and when the rest arrived (very slowly) she was full and sent some courses back. It's clear that the staff was in difficulty, so I don't feel like criticizing the service too much, also because they are very young and perhaps even inexperienced. In any case, the waitress also managed to find a solution for my gluten and lactose intolerant friend, and, according to the diners, it was all very good. The menu was full of pizzas of all types, EVEN TOO MANY I WOULD SAY, and, with all those fonts different from each other, it was even more confusing! I recommend making less choice of pizzas, limiting yourself if anything to the most requested, perhaps adding an option for vegans and above all using the same font for all dishes!! There was nothing for vegans, but there were several vegetarian pizzas, so I chose a vegetarian one, removed the mozzarella and added porcini mushrooms. Good but nothing sensational, the typical crunchy Tuscan pizza. Normal prices, economical appetizer for the cost, given that it serves as a complete meal. Conclusion: a place without infamy or glory

26/09/2023: Abbiamo pranzato presso il ristorante di questo stabilimento balneare in una bella domenica di settembre. Sono arrivato qui, spinto dal desiderio di rievocare i miei ricordi d'infanzia, dato che ho passato in questo lido viareggino le prime 15/16 estati della mia vita.. Erano gli anni 80 e tutto era fantastico! Sono partito da casa con l'intenzione di mangiare un fritto misto e così è stato, anche se ammetto di essere rimasto deluso nell'apprendere che i prodotti serviti erano surgelati. In tutta sincerità, mangiare un fritto misto di pesce surgelato in riva al mare mi sembra davvero una stonatura, avrei preferito spendere qualche euro in più e mangiare del pesce fresco. In ogni caso, abbiamo preso due maccheroncini alle arselle (fresche) e 2 fritti misti, vino bianco, acqua e caffè. Tutto buono, niente da eccepire, anche il surgelato era, evidentemente, di buona qualità (ma non è una consolazione). Buoni i primi, ci sono piaciuti ma al momento dell'ordine, ho chiesto se al posto dei maccheroncini si potevano avere degli spaghetti, col medesimo condimento (alle arselle) e il gentilissimo cameriere mi ha risposto che, con 120 coperti, i piatti andavano presi così come erano scritti sul menù. Anche questa mi è sembrata una forzatura, sinceramente, è la prima volta che mi capita. Come è possibile che non si possa avere un tipo di pasta diverso rispetto a quello indicato sulla lista delle proposte? Forse, in questo ristorante, non sono abituati ad avere 120 coperti ed assecondare richieste che divergono leggermente rispetto al menu? Oppure le preparazioni sono precotte? Conto in linea con la proposta e adeguato alla location. In conclusione, una bella domenica in famiglia, un buon pranzo con un paio di grossi punti interrogativi e la consapevolezza che le cose cambiano.. Bene ma non benissimo!
07/09/2023: We were here for lunch. The waiter was extremely friendly and helpful. The restaurant is tastefully decorated and we had a delicious meal. This gives a beautiful memory of beautiful Italy 🥰
