Ramen Bar Akira In Roma

Before entering, we feared there wouldn't be a table for two without a reservation, and in fact there wasn't, but they offered us the counter, which I must tell you, I liked! His Ramen Bars are also in other places in Rome, even in the center of the Trevi Fountain for example. But also in Florence, Brescia and Milan. Very kind staff. The counter overlooks the open kitchen. There is a calm that you don't expect that makes you spend a completely relaxing evening. The place is very informal and welcoming. The menu features three Ramen and other typical dishes. Even dessert. We took two Ramen, the classic Black and the Spicy. The broth is not transparent and in my opinion this is because there is meat inside and then they blend it to give it even more flavour. Very good. The tagliolini cooked perfectly. Strangely enough, I even managed to eat them with chopsticks, because they didn't slide off. Two Ramen, 4 takoyaki, 5 gyoza, two beers and two desserts, 63 euros. Maybe the prices are a little high, but you are in the Ostienze neighborhood in Rome and as we say, it fits!!!

Tried it tonight on the advice of friends, it was a nice surprise, well-kept environment, very good food, friendly staff and fast service, everything was perfect even the price is in line with the quality of the food and the area of ​​the restaurant, we will definitely be back!

While this may not have been the best ramen I've ever had, it certainly wasn't the worst. I ordered the red spicy tonkotsu ramen, and I thought the broth was done quite well, with a good balance of spice levels. The alkaline noodles, which were on the thicker side, also had a consistent texture that wasn't too chewy. Unfortunately, I felt that the amount of toppings was lacking. I'm not sure if it's because we're in Rome, but I'm not accustomed to having so few toppings on my ramen. Additionally, I found the portion size to be a bit small. The extra toppings and side dishes also seemed overpriced for what you received. Furthermore, I wasn't impressed with the Ajitama; the flavor hadn't seeped into the yolk. On the bright side, the Chashu was well done; it was juicy and had a soft texture that melted in my mouth. In conclusion, I think Ramen Bar Akira is an ideal place for people who aren't all too familiar with ramen to explore the world of these Japanese noodles. While there is room for improvement, I understand that running such a restaurant in Italy can be challenging, and they are doing a commendable job! I am glad ramen culture is being spread internationally.
