We stayed at the castle at the end of November. It was sooo cold in the apartment. The apartment itself was very spacious, but it couldn't be enjoyed because of how chilly it was in the place. We also found a stink bug in the bed sheets.
We had to check in past 6pm because of when our flight landed. I had called beforehand and was told that I could check in at the hotel restaurant. We arrive to the castle and it was impossible to find the restaurant. There were no signs guiding us where to go and we wandered around for half an hour before stumbling across another guest that helped us find the place. I would not recommend staying here. Maybe it's a better time in the summer.

Absolutely charming castle in the most beautiful countryside. This is not a modern hotel, but it is an amazing experience.

The rooms are totally amazing in size and history. The only thing for us was the shower size was way too small, but other than that the suite came with its own kitchen and sitting area, huge master bedroom and we love the bidet! Located remotely, about 30-40 min from Florence, so be prepared to drive. It is very quiet with beautiful grounds and the staff is super helpful. Only WiFi is in the main office, be prepared to be disconnected unless you have phone service.

My husband and I stayed for 6 nights at Castello di Montegufoni and just absolutely fell in love. Our view was incredible and the room was perfect for us. We were close by to so many day trips that made the location perfect. Parking at the Castello was easy and the staff was not only kind, but so helpful. If you're expecting a hotel like environment, that is not what you'll get. Instead, it was comparable to staying in an airbnb, but much more to offer! We traveled in early October and it was a true dream.

Wonderful place! Very clean. Very comfortable. Our room was actually 2 big rooms, a small room and a full bathroom with shower, not a tub. 1 room had a small kitchen with a medium fridge and items to cook and eat with, including a dining table and comfortable lazy boy type chair to sit in. The ceilings were high and we could have slept 2 on the pullout couch, 2 in the big bedroom, and another in the smaller bedroom. There were fans to cool off with in each room, no ac. The windows in each room fully opened and offered amazing views of the pool and the countryside. Bring your own toilet paper and soaps and shampoos. I would stay here forever if I could!
