We stopped by for an impromptu dinner on a day trip to Palermo. We were treated to a lovely meal of Sicilian delicacies by Enza and Salvatore, who made us feel welcomed as if guests in their home. We had cozze e pepe to start, an exquisite pasta al sarde with a beautiful fennel aroma for primo, freshly grilled calamari for secondo, and a tasty cannolo for dessert. We had nice conversations with Enza and were very content for this to be our final meal in Sicily. We hope to be back soon.

I was lucky enough to have lunch at the Vecchio Ristoro del Corso in Palermo. A trattoria where it is possible to savor dishes of typical Sicilian cuisine, cooked by the expert hands of the splendid Mrs. Provvidenza, who together with her daughter Rossana and her innovative ideas, give diners real emotions. Everything is then followed by the experience of Mr. Salvatore and his other daughter Giovanna who make sitting at the table pleasant and familiar... I think that anyone who comes to visit the beautiful Pelermo must necessarily try the culinary specialties of the Vecchio Ristoro.

Fantastic family owned restaurant. The food was authentic and tasty. They provided baby high chair and boiled potatos for our baby. The owners are so lovely!

What a great surprise ! Friendly owners ! Wine was delicious and not expensive ! Plates were full and pasta was delicious !

I visited the restaurant based on its reviews. Unfortunately a bit sobering. I had to keep my jacket on at the beginning because it was very cold in the restaurant. My warm starter was cold and the side dish for the Cotoletta Milanese was almost cold until it arrived. I almost felt guilty complaining about this... But it was justified.

Un viaggio nel tempo…dove i sapori dei piatti ricordano quelli delle nostre nonne. Il servizio a cena é gestito dai simpatici proprietari (sono persone semplici e genuine), ambiente casalingo. Se ci andate per il buon cibo non rimarrete delusi. Pesce freschissimo! I primi sono abbondanti. Aperto sia a pranzo che a cena. Ottimo rapporto costo/qualità.

Ancora una gradevolissima esperienza al vecchio ristoro del corso! Siamo stati accolti dal patron Salvatore e dalla bella signora bionda, Giovanna, che io avevo definito troppo silenziosa ma che lentamente sta diventando piu' loquace. La cucina e' fantastica, io adoro l'insalata viddana e gli spaghetti alla carrettiera, altri hanno preso frittura di pesce anch'essa ottima. Da bere un buonissimo bianco della casa. Servizio gentilissimo e veloce, e prezzi molto molto bassi, non dovrei scriverlo perche' cosi' li induco ad aumentarli, ma e' un dovere nei confronti degli altri turisti che leggono. Alla fine abbiamo salutato la chef Enza, una signora straordinaria, sempre umile come tutte le persone valide. Presente la sous chef Rossana. Insomma il vecchio ristoro del corso e' un gioiello nascosto, lontano dai quartieri della movida, ma vale la pena camminare un po' per andarci. In occasione di una mianuova gita a Palermo sicuramente tornero'.

Trattoria alla buona gestita da una intera famiglia. Location informale ben tenuta e pulita. Proprietario garbato e cortese. n° 1 di polpette di sarde con cipolla in agrodolce (abbondante porzione e molto buoni), 2 tranci di alalunga, buoni ma forse leggermente troppo cotti, patate lesse e insalata di pomidoro rustica con cipolle, acciughine, capperi ed olive ( alla viddrana), 1/4 di bianco della casa ed 1 di acqua per un totale di €. 46. Ottimo prezzo e buon cibo. Avrei potuto dare 3 pallini ne ho aggiunto uno perchè la recensione deve essere contestualizzata al locale ed al rapporto qualità/prezzo.
