Very good atmosphere, food and prices.

A great restaurant! Delicious food, friendly service and great ambience. What I can especially recommend is the red house wine!

Pleasant discovery in the heart of Palermo! A good pizza with good quality ingredients, correct prices, pleasant environment, friendly staff.

I was strolling through the streets late in the evening and happened to pass the busy restaurant. Spontaneously grabbed a table and left with a full stomach and full of enthusiasm. Definitely worth a visit - exceptional good quality for a normal price!

Dopo qualche mese siamo ritornati in quattro. Abbiamo ordinato un misto caldo, una pizza romana, due pizze A' nica e una pizza Carretto. Siamo rimasti soddisfatti. Servizio accurato. Sconto TheFork correttamente applicato.

Pizza and service are okay, but nothing special. The prices are rather high. I think 6 EUR for a glass of house wine and an additional 2.50 EUR per person for the table setting (unfortunately this is now common almost everywhere in Palermo) is a rip-off. If only you could get at least a few olives or a piece of bread. Unfortunately no. The 2.50 EUR per person is essentially a “hidden tip”. You won't even find salt, pepper or olive oil at the table. As an absolute “pizza lover”, I have dealt with pizza a lot in my life. The pizzas here at A'nica are absolutely okay. But there is still clearly room for improvement. CONCLUSION: If you happen to be in the immediate vicinity and feel like pizza, you can stop here without hesitation. However, there are definitely better places to eat pizza in Palermo itself. So it's not worth driving/going here.

Our first evening in Palermo and we wanted to splash out and have a really nice dining experience. On researching, and cross checking with a list of a few nearby recommendations (list in hotel room), A'nica Ristorante & Pizza Gourmet seemed to fit the bill. Googling had come up with a listing for this restaurant on 'TheFork', which I'd never come across before - so more googling to check 'TheFork' - seeing as 20% discount was offered (food only - on à la carte only) went ahead. Arrived to find the large outside terrace pretty full and busy. Greeted by waiter, told him we had a booking and he shouted back at someone my name and we were shown to a table. I mentioned 'TheFork' but his English was poor and I wasn't sure he understood - so never mind, will mention it on paying at the end. Outside setting very nice in a quiet old street/square. We were attended to by at least 5 different servers and most of them had no or very little English - and rushed off their feet. The food was rather disappointing. I ordered the linguini shrimps and pistachio pesto. It was a large quantity but presentation looked unappetizing and the pesto for me was unpleasant because of the thick rather porridgy consistency, colour, and all the tiny bits of nuts - not fully blended (maybe meant to be like that). But the worst was it was over salted (later glugging water all through the night). I have a low salt tolerance but my son tasted it (likes more salt in food than me) and agreed it was "slightly salty" - so I only ate about a third of it and he had a bit. His pizza was also a disappointment - soft 'crust' and a bit soggy/undercooked in the middle. I had a taste and for me Zizzi is far better. Incidentally when a waiter came to clear our plates, I tried to say in Italian there was too much salt, he found my attempt at Italian amusing and just gave me a mini Italian lesson. We decided to finish with a shared tiramisu with a glass or Marsala. The saving grace - it was one of the best tiramisus (if not THE best) I have ever tasted. The 20% discount? Well - a waiter saw we had finished and brought the bill. He was not friendly (my son thought he also seemed annoyed because we didn't leave a tip - but he hadn't served us once). I completely forgot to ask about the 20% till we'd stood up to leave - we hadn't actually checked the bill which seemed about right, and I don't think was itemized anyway and I couldn't be bothered to call back the waiter for something like 8 Euros (which was roughly 20% of the food bill). So a slightly disappointing start to our 2.5 days in Palermo and curious to see if there is any communication between the restaurant and 'TheFork' regarding our booking. I only gave a score of 3 rather than 2 because of the fantastic tiramisu.
