Bar Manganelli In Siena

Restaurant/pizzeria located right in Piazza del Campo. The food is well prepared, well presented and the service is good. It is worth it.

In our experience in Siena, this is the best restaurant visited. Price quality not compliant as in every restaurant visited, high prices and average quality. Siena is like this, the prices are not in line with the rest, it lives on reputation, like Venice and similar places, the reason is naturally commercial and not real perhaps like in Venice which has a city inside the sea. But regardless, the thing that made the difference here was the greater attention to the customer, something not to be taken for granted in Siena, then the speed, discretion and cover were very good. Furthermore, the possibility of choosing a Brunello di Montalcino by the glass is not for everyone, I'm sure it's the only one in Piazza del Campo and maybe almost certain in all of Siena, but if I'm wrong, I'm welcome. Carbonara average but pasta overcooked, Cesar salade good and the other salad also good albeit less so. Good table oil. Finally, as you already know, the location alone is worth a coffee for 3 euros per table.

What can we say about Manganelli? I'm sure all of the restaurants in Piazza del Campo are good, but we've now been to Mangianelli twice this week. We've had a couple different waiters, and they're all kind (shout out a mi amigo Dominicano!), and patient with my attempts to order in Italian... The atmosphere is relaxed (front row view of Palazzo Pubblico / there's no rush), and the food is excellent (bruschetta, pasta, pizza [quattro stalgione], calzone de cotto. We also love the Brunello vino della casa. Our price guesstimate excludes the wine (you can easily spend less or more on wine anywhere!). We also excluded extra food we ordered for take away...

Pizza margherita boa. Preço turístico. Vinho bom, mas taça de vidro. Vista ótima para a praça e aquecimento no ambiente externo excelente.

Good pizza and bruschetta. The waiter was absent and uninterested in making sure we were taken care of.

Endroit très bruyant, nous avons commandé une pièce de bœuf (servie sans frites et sans aucun autre accompagnement alors que le plat était à 32€ tout de même) et des lasagnes qui était basique . De plus nous avons payer 7 euro le coca cola … Le service n’est pas au top…

September 3rd 2023 - Lunch on a sunny Sunday with views of Piazza del Campo. The service from the moment we sat at our table was fantastic. The food was delicious and reminiscent of true Italian flavours. Rich in tomato flavour with some refreshing cold beverages. We were grateful of the outdoor dining being shaded with umbrellas given the heat of the day.
