Attracted by the Church and Museum of San Cassiano, for lunch, I wanted to try the Tordelli di Santina. In a still genuine place, where the villagers meet for a game of cards and to have a drink with friends, you can enjoy homemade dishes of a goodness steeped in tradition and simplicity. It feels like being in a large family where the dishes arrive by choice of those who cook and not those who eat. Everything is delicious...but the Tordelli are really the TOP. Strictly homemade desserts. The Tiramisu was stellar! Here you must go without the pretense of a menu, willing to accept the seasonal choices of the excellent cook. I highly recommend it. It is necessary to book in advance!

But if you are open to the public, you must accept diversity and culinary needs dictated by health or culture. Especially in an area frequented and inhabited by many foreigners. Came here for lunch. Set menu. Massive plate of delicious wild boar ravioli, 1/2 litre of wine and main course of sliced meat, potatoes and tomatoes for €18. So much food I couldn't finish and had to go for 4km walk after to aid digestion.

Bar Santina's furnishings have remained in the 80s and this is appreciated by vintage lovers, like me. I went there specifically to eat Lucca's tordelli and the cuisine did not disappoint expectations. The cook is very kind and really cares that customers are satisfied, so in addition to quality she also pays attention to quantity! It is best to eat on the terrace where you can enjoy a beautiful view of the Lima valley.
