Almost every morning during my daily routes of 6 - 8 kilometers, I pass by the Caffè Literario and sometimes stop for my second breakfast. A full-blown barley cappuccino, with an excellent aroma and an inviting full-bodied foam, keep me company and refreshed. The place maintains a certain retro charm, it reminds me of the bars in Trieste in Piazza della Libertà and those in Vienna full of hot chocolate and portions of "Sachertorte" accompanied by a generous dollop of cream. But we are neither in Trieste nor in Vienna, but in Treviso in the Latin Quarter, in the center of the branch offices of the Universities of Padua and Venice. The scenery is splendid and opens onto the large bend of the river, there at two hundred meters you come across the famous stele dedicated to Dante and his three Divine Canticles with the verse carved, taken from the IX Canto of Paradise, "and where Sile and Cagnan accompanies us." Treviso, still charm, history and culture all in one hand. Let's meet at the Literary Café.

I had lunch on carnival day in this bar. Quick and tasty lunches! Sophisticated and very refined menu. Very quick service and friendly and polite staff. The products are quality and fresh. Very quiet and elegant location, not crowded and with a pleasant view.

Mia moglie ed io abbiamo consumato 2 caffè macchiati serviti seduti. Oltre alla buona qualità del prodotto, la piazzetta all'aperto è veramente carina, sufficientemente tranquilla pur trovandosi in pieno centro di Treviso. Personale molto cordiale, prezzo non ricaricato per il servizio seduto: 1,30€ cad.. Servizi igienici ben tenuti.

Un café fort sympathique au coeur d'une place qui l'est tout autant, fréquenté majoritairement par des étudiants. Un service aimable et efficace, de bons croissants (on n'y a pris que le petit-déjeuner) et une atmosphère très agréable.
