Da Gelsomina In Anacapri

Da Gelsomina is one of the best restaurants on the Island of Capri. Located in Anacapri, the other city on the island, it is a little further away, HOWEVER, the restaurant itself offers a free pickup service for its customers. They pick you up in the center of Anacapri, take you to the restaurant and drop you off when you return. This is excellent!!! The restaurant is beautiful, located in a wonderful place with spectacular views. They have their own vegetable garden, from where they harvest fresh ingredients for their dishes, and a grapevine for their homemade wine. Everything delicious. I have not encountered this restaurant in any of my research prior to coming to Capri but came on the recommendation from our host at our hotel who helped to book reservations. He told us that we would have an amazing experience at this restaurant in Anacapri but when I looked on the map, it was actually outside of town! I wondered how we would get there considering we only had bus tickets as tourists. It's simple, the restaurant offers a complimentary shuttle service from Anacapri to the restaurant and back. Once we arrived, I knew that we were somewhere special! Thanks to our reservations, we were given a stunning table by the window where we could witness the magnificent Capri sunset as this restaurant is facing west and is famous for or their sunset views. I can tell you that their food was just as impressive as the the setting sun! The service was top-notch and on point from the experienced wait staff. All of the food was expertly prepared and incredibly fresh especially the seafood. We ordered a local fish that was prepared with olives and capers and it was absolutely delicious. This was a truly memorable dining experience and one that we will not forget for a long time from Capri!

The food here is incredible. We, a large party of adults and children of all ages, were seated quickly and treated to delicious dishes, with exceptional and attentive service. Stop and enjoy the menu for as long as possible, everything was memorable.

Service quality ratio very good. Food fantastic as well as breakfast. Very friendly staff, great service, always willing to provide a shuttle bus to and from location. Thank you for the nice and cared for days!

Cette adresse en est une à retenir lorsqu'on veut prendre un repas hors normes à Capri ou dans la région. C'est très cher, mais cela en vaut vraiment le coût. Après une entrée qui nous a vu prendre un antipasti de charcuteries mixtes et de la pieuvre grillée, les crevettes à la diavolo servies avec linguine pomodoro ont suivi avec un plat d'espadon grillé et de légumes grillés. Exquis. La crème caramel et la tarte au citron et ricotta terminaient le repas d'une manière parfaite. Un point particulièrement intéressant, lorsqu'on connaît la situation particulière d'Anacapri et sa topographie, est que ce restaurant offre un service de navette. On vient vous cueillir à votre lieu de résidence et on vous y ramène, le tout sans frais, sauf le pourboire discrétionnaire il va sans dire.

Transportation to and from the hotel was included. I had requested a cake for my birthday, and it was served with background music. It was a great restaurant with great food, wine, and service. One thing I was disappointed with was that it was night, so I couldn't get a good view. If you want a great view, it's best to visit in the evening or during lunch time.

The view is amazing! The food was good. The service was sub par for the price. After we got the main course, we were never checked on again. We wanted a second bottle of wine, but by the time we got anyone’s attention - our meal was finished and we decided to go home. They were all very nice, but the attentiveness was not there.

Il posto è molto carino. I ravioli capresi erano buoni. I scialatielli con calamari e friarielli erano banale e deludenti. La frittura di pesce era buona. La torta de limone c’è stata la stella della notte! Era buonissima! Al punto che abbiamo ordinato una seconda porzione di torta! Complimenti! La torta caprese non mi ha piaciuto molto; era asciutta. Il limoncello era spettacolare! Il servizio deve migliorare. Noi ci abbiamo seduti e abbiamo dovuto aspettare un bel po’ prima de che qualcuno si avvicinasse al tavolo a prendere il ordine e non era che stavano rush, perché i camerieri se fermavano a fare chiacchierate con altri commensali. Ho notato i tavoli intorno a noi che erano infastiditi perché la attenzione non c’è stata al massimo

Wonderful pasta! We had ravioli and gnocchi and red wine. Nice outside dining area, nice staff. Shuttle service, and that's good because the location is a bit far from Anacapri centre.
