We ate very well in this family-run restaurant that we discovered by pure chance. Very clean and nice place, we returned several times during our stay in Rome and always had a good time. The first courses are exquisite, as are the desserts, in particular the grandmother's cake and the chocolate cake. We hope to return soon

Very simple place with friendly staff, especially Walter who served us. Rather extensive menu with both classic Roman cuisine and meat, fish and low-priced pizza. The focaccia with which we accompanied the mussels and clams souté was good and both the courgette flowers and the Ascoli olives were well fried. The baked sea bream and sea bass are delicate, the potatoes are average and the Roman artichoke is a little too oily. The berry cake is very delicious. Average prices and some difficulty finding parking. I was there 4 years ago and, compared to now, I found it improved. The venue has several rooms between the ground floor and the basement. From the underground floor, eight of us ordered mixed fried foods which were all in all good (courgette flowers €1, supplì €1 and cod fillets €3); the tomato bruschettas were decent (€2 each - we ordered one and 4 arrived). The cured meats and cheeses are normal (€9). The medium-small pizzas (€8-9) are almost inedible. Some remained on the plate almost intact. None of them were well cooked, they were pale, short and excessively crunchy, practically a cross between pane carasau, azimo and piadine. The flour was clearly visible on one and, by cutting them into wedges, it was clear that the electric oven had left them semi-raw. Including water, beers on tap and covered about fifteen euros each. Service a little distracted.

Trattoria from times gone by. The scent at the entrance already says a lot!

Nice dining experience. Simple but "true" cuisine. The fried foods are good. I recommend the spaghetti with clams. Excellent value for money.

Abbiamo cenato qui il primo dell'anno. Ambiente abbastanza curato, cucina tradizionale e ben fatta, servizio efficiente e tanta cordialità.

25/03/2024: Me and my wife just finished the meal at la cantinola da livio restaurant and the food was amazing literally to die for, everything in the restaurant was so good if you guys in Rome rush to the restaurant right now and I tell you don’t regret. Thanks so much for the last meal on our honeymoon in the best place ever!!!!!!!!
15/03/2024: When you read from the reviews that Livio's is like being at home, well for me it was exactly like that. Available to chat, fresh fish in delicious recipes, like grandmother's dishes of the past. In the central area of Rome but at honest and sustainable prices. Sardinian restaurant, not Roman. The Cantinola starter is plentiful and varied and I liked everything from the fish salads to the parmesan and mushroom salads, the mozzarella, the oysters, the mushrooms, my goodness, how good! the pasta with clams and cantinola delicious, above all, finally a pasta with clams that has flavour, the ravioli are a must try (mum's recipe)! the exceptional honey seadas, super. The place is warm, beautiful, and is really very clean (for example, the high shelves don't have a speck of dust). Upon our arrival we were greeted with a prosecco and at the end of dinner we were offered a liqueur of our choice. 10 star hospitality! It's a really worth-trying place. I am very sensitive to fish. Once I ate in a place paying 100 euros per person and I didn't feel very well, you can find the review further down, here we paid 40 euros each (with 2 wines, one of which was house) and I spent an exceptional night, and at full belly! I will return, but with different friends. I admit that I was accompanied by a couple of less polite friends. Forgive me Livio, I will come with people worthy of the quality you bring!! Thanks so much for everything!!
