Gio's In Venezia

Nice views. Top class in the world. I wanted the food to be as good as the St. Regis Hotel, but I felt like they put too much effort into it and left it out. Only some creative dishes. The dessert tiramisu is extremely delicious. Prices are high, but location makes up for it.

While food was exceptional at this establishment the service here was not. We were seated at a table that had no silverware setup and sat for 25 minutes without being acknowledged at all other than to receive a bottle of still water they use to hold you at the table. Meanwhile the couple next to us, inches away, had ordered the tasting menu and was getting served like royalty. Only when we asked the manager for the check for the water only, so we could leave, did they suddenly decide they could serve us. There was no apology for the delay and service afterwards was indifferent. Lesson learned.. if you want to eat here come from a different hotel and order the tasting menu. Those staying at the St Regis and ordering from the ala carte menu won't get served until you tell them you want to leave. Food as expressed was very good and served in good size quantities. I expect the food quality is what gets this place so many 5 stars. The service experience here however was horrible and the overall experience was not worth the highly overpriced 188 euros for two. There are MUCH better dining options close by that will offer you better food, much better service and cost at an establishment that wants your business va resting on their overrated laurels. Dinner service here was a HUGE disappointment. On an up note if you're staying at the hotel they do serve a good breakfast with solid service. The breakfast experience is what allows this establishment to get 3 stars vs 1 or 2 stars if ranking on the dinner experience alone.

This time I stayed in St. Regis for five days to enjoy the charm of Venice. We had breakfast at Gio’s. The dishes were a little smaller than expected, but the contents were very fresh. There were a variety of breads to choose from, as well as fruits, and there were many dried fruits to choose from. I had a dinner experience and also went to the bar next to it. There was a singer singing that day. I enjoyed a perfect night. It is a place worth recommending.

Truffle pasta (40euro) is great. Though i prefer added some meat to compliment the dish. Tiramisu is best.(20euro) Recommended

Delicious dishes. In winter we were not able to eat on the terrace but the interior is up to the standard of the hotel. Unfortunately the prices too. A little too expensive for a non-starred restaurant.

Fantastic dinner and experience this evening from start to finish. Upon arrival by boat, drinks on the terrace and the meal in the restaurant everything was perfect. Every course was delicious but special mention for the lobster pasta, the lamb and the tiramisu - not to mention the olive oil. The service was perfect, friendly but attentive. Everyone from the restaurant manager Enrico and his entire team made our evening very special. Thank you

We had lunch here and the views are amazing. This has to be the best meal we ever had! The service is top notch as they are there to help make your experience the best. The food was so good and the selection was wonderful. They have a wonderful wine selection as well. I recommend the sea bass as it was wonderful. We also had the blue lobster ravioli, duck Ragu and glazed lamb with herbs. For dessert chocolate mousse, and peach gelato. All where amazing! They never rush you and make great suggestions as well. Veronica was amazing as our host as she attended to every need. The whole experience is one we will never forget! When in Venice this must be on your list for lunch or dinner as you will not be disappointed. Reservations are highly recommended.
