Quiet hotel, not very far on foot from the seaside where you can find restaurants and bars

This is a lovely hotel and we had a great time. The off season pricing was approachable. Our room didn't have a view but it was right off a terrace that had an absolutely gorgeous view. The room was cozy and quiet, even during the storm that came in on our last night. Everything was clean and tidy. Staff are very helpful and friendly. The breakfast in the morning was simple, but delicious with enough options to fill you up for a morning of walking and site seeing. I especially appreciated the morning cappuccinos. The restaurant was closed during our stay but the hotel is within a several minutes walk of many great food options. Be aware that parking on Ortigia has recently changed and the hotel is no longer able to offer free parking, as overnight island parking is now for residents only. So if you drive you will need to park across the bridges in Siracusa.

The rooms with a crib are small but you can request a large one. We don't care about the view because we only go to sleep in the room and we still had a balcony with a view. In February very pleasant, abundant breakfast and calm. Coming here during high season must be very different. So I advise you to come in the low season to enjoy it just like we did.

If rustic, charming, tasteful design is your preference, this is a perfect hotel. I could feel myself immediately relax when opening Hotel Gutkowski’s doors, and it provided a much needed reprieve after a packed itinerary in Rome. The view speaks for itself, the decor was lovely, and breakfast was fresh and local. I can’t wait to come back with my mom. One note for light sleepers is the walls are thin (somewhat expected in a rustic location), so your uninterrupted sleep may depend on how respectful your neighbors are.

First off...we did not realize this was a vegetarian restaurant. We're not vegetarians. It doesnt matter. Good food is good food. You dont need meat, especially when the food is prepared as well as this. We sat outdoors on their rooftop dining area, with a gentle breeze and a beautiful view of the sea. We had an antipasto of plum salad with red onion, lemon, toasty bread crumbs, fennel and bell pepper. Wow! So good! For our primo piatto my wife had risotto with garlic and oil, red pepper and lime. I had Sicilian spaghetti with wild fennel and tomato sauce. Our secondo was a fantastic courgette pie. A cake of zucchini in a mushroom sauce with grilled green onion. Our bottle of Grillo went well with the meal. One of the best meals this beef-eater has ever had. Grazie mille Gutkowskino!

Hotel much more like a hostel, I honestly thought it was much better but instead except for the kindness of almost all the staff and the place (at the end of the centre) I didn't find a relationship between quality and price 100 euros for one night in November is definitely not worth it! P.s it has no parking

Best stay in Syracuse. The location is perfect. The view from the terrace incredible. The service was great too. The room was clean. There are antique furniture but the bed was comfortable too. I would stay here again.

An remarkable stay with comfortable rooms, a lovely design esthetic, and the best breakfast we had in Sicily. Across from the seaside rampart and featuring friendly, helpful staff and a picturesque rooftop patio.

Best meal in Siracusa by far. Lovely setting on the roof of the Hotel Gutowski. Good selection of wine and perfectly balanced vegetarian food. As a gluten free vegetarian it is hard to find something interesting and healthy to eat. The smoked eggplant was delicious. Even my meat eating husband was impressed.
