The welcoming and familiar atmosphere made me feel at ease straight away. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, demonstrating a real passion for their work. The cuisine is a true riot of local flavours, from fresh pasta to game dishes; everything is prepared with skill and passion. But what really struck me and my faithful four-legged friend was the friendliness towards animals. Not only are the dogs welcomed, but they are treated with respect and affection. In short, Il Guado della Valle is a place where courtesy and hospitality blend with a passion for good food and love for animals. Compliments! 🌟

We had the pleasure of enjoying a delightful dining experience at this restaurant. The traditional and national dishes have been prepared with skill and impeccable attention to quality and detail. Furthermore, the wines offered, including the house one, proved to be up to par with the dishes. The staff, kind, knowledgeable and always available, made the service a real strong point. The family atmosphere made the meal even more enjoyable. Also not to be overlooked is the convenient internal parking. We highly recommend this restaurant for an authentic and satisfying dining experience.

The pasta wasn't that great, the strozzapreti with tomato, saffron and sausage weren't good at all, the ingredients weren't mixed together. We also took grilled lamb which was good and I recommend it, while the veal steak was definitely overcooked and stringy in the thinnest part. The house wine very good. We asked for onion to accompany the meat and were told that they don't have onion in the kitchen, which is crazy for a restaurant. We came for lunch for Valentine's Day after reading excellent reviews online and were a little disappointed.

Ogni volta che veniamo in vacanza da queste parti proviamo nuovi ristoranti, ma una visita al Guado resta d’obbligo per una serie di importanti motivi. Primo, il ristorante è caratteristico sia per l’ottima cucina abruzzese sia per il locale, ricavato in un’antica stalla finemente adibita a ristorante. Difficile trovare un posto così caratteristico nelle immediate vicinanze. Poi, il servizio è veloce e attento e le porzioni abbondanti. Se desiderate il modo tradizionale abbruzzese di mangiare - piatti doppi, cibo gustoso e genuino, cucina verace senza fronzoli, prezzi giusti - questo è il posto che fa per voi.

Location molto suggestiva e personale cortese. Polenta all'agnello e grigliata mista di carne veramente squisiti, siamo rimasti veramente colpiti dalla bontà. Un appunto però sulla Chitarrina Porcini e Tartufo. Ci saremmo aspettati il tartufo e non la salsa tartufata, magari sarebbe opportuno specificarlo nel menù perché la delusione è stata tanta. Ottime anche le patate al forno, croccanti esternamente e morbide all'interno.

21/03/2024: We stopped on the way back from Rome to have lunch and even though it was already 2.30pm they welcomed us and served us with the utmost courtesy and helpfulness. We had lunch with a delicious starter and rich grilled meat....highly recommended

05/02/2024: We visited Scanno for the day last Saturday and stopped for lunch at the Porta. We booked an hour in advance, but being February we easily found a place, in other periods I don't know because the place is really small, but for this reason it is also welcoming and I also liked the interaction that Mrs. Bice (I think she is the owner) manages to create among the various customers by describing the traditional dishes they serve. There were two of us and we had two first courses, two second courses, a side dish, a dessert, water, beer and coffee, and we spent the right amount for a meal like this (€67). The menu is daily, changes according to seasonality and serves traditional dishes, for example we had the cazzinicchi with foie and some really good spaghetti alla guitar. Advised!
