Pizza was awesome, huge slices and very very tasty. The waitress was very polite and the cook (a guy from Venezuela) was also very friendly. He also waited for us to finish our dinner (we arrived a bit late in the restaurant, a lttle bit before closing time). It was the best pizza we had in Milan. On top of that prices were pretty low.

I've been here several times - a couple of times I've stopped in and most other times I've gotten takeaway. The pan pizza is really very good, the service is very fast and they are very kind and efficient. The place is small, but very well organized and welcoming.

The best pizza by the slice eaten, very digestible, well leavened, first-rate ingredients. Friendly and approachable staff... I wrote this 4 years ago and I have to confirm it today!
- Yesterday 20 April 2024 I went back, and I had to witness a telephone scene "with a dissatisfied and angry home delivery customer"; who most likely does not know the origins of a baked product which officially has its origins in Rome in the 70s and is called "Pizza Romana", for this person it was a "focaccia"😳😳😳!!! The question arises spontaneously... "but where do you come from???"
Officially:
- The idea was born in the 70s by some "Roman" bakers who put the bread dough in square or rectangular pans, dirtying it with tomato puree.
Following this, in 1987 the young pizza chef Angelo Iezzi experimented with a new long leavening dough, highly hydrated and with the addition of olive oil. In a short time, many pizza chefs in the capital specialized in pan-sized pizza also known as "Roman pizza or pizza by the slice".
My experience:
- I have lived in Milan since "1962" and I am the nephew and son of restaurateurs, I must say that in Milan the Pizza in "Teglia Rotonda" called "Pizza al Taglio" was already present at that time and from 1967, I frequented the sons of the owners of a Pizzeria that made this type of baked product. In this regard, I contest the official nature of the above-mentioned origins, also because Spontini has still been there in Via Spontini since 1957!
- I have eaten tons of pizza al Taglio over the course of my life, today at 64 years old I can "certify" that «LA BOTTEGA DELLA PIZZA» produces the best Pan Pizza Al Taglio in all of Milan and surrounding areas and has been doing so for 30 years years.
- Their pizza has a dough with very careful ingredients which over the years has reached the perfect balance;
- Once the dough has risen and cooked in a WOOD OVEN it is soft inside and crunchy on the bottom BUT NEVER GREASY;
- All the ingredients to customize your own slice of Pizza al Taglio are of EXCELLENT QUALITY. For example, I put Gorgonzola, abundant spicy salami and peppers on top - not the classic one - and after three hours I have already digested my abundant portion without ever feeling heavy or with a swollen stomach due to bad leavening.

Informal, fun, clean place. Fast and attentive staff. The pizza by the slice is very good. Not at all greasy and filled with quality products. Many variations proposed for all tastes! I'll be back for sure! We had a really good time! Normal prices.

A nice local. Despite the language barrier, we were able to communicate. The food really tasted very good. The staff was really super nice and responded to every request, especially the man from Venezuela.
The ambience is not big, but it is nicely decorated. Only recommended!
