L'Anice Stellato In Venezia

Fantastic customer service. Incredibly welcoming staff - for all guests - we arrived at 7PM on the dot and managed to get a table for 3 with no reservation. Booking appears to be essential, and timely. Other guests who arrived earlier than planned - with reservations - were turned away. Tables outside ( a little cold in April) were unused. The food was delicious. You can really TASTE discrete flavours. We also grabbed some local wine and it was very good. We would go again. Lovely atmosphere. Clean toilets. We paid €130 for 3 with €40 for wine.

Tucked away in a quiet side of Venice, nice setting complemented by good drinks and food. If you are looking for seafood, they do have a nice variety and fish of the day was the best dish we had. If you are looking for regular pizza/pasta, this is not the place as the cooking style is new age with a nice twist and offers something unique. They have a great variety of wine and was good to try few of the local area wines based on the recommendations of the staff. Nice warm service by thestaff to complete a well rounded restaurant.

The best of the stay, a real favorite.

It’s natural to get caught up in the tourist trap restaurants of Venice near the Rialto bridge (which are awful and overpriced). Do yourself a favour and sample real Italian cuisine produced and cooked with care and attention. Osteria Anice Stellato is just one of these rare finds that make your trip to Venice all the more worthwhile and memorable. The fish dishes are amazing and they have a fabulous selection of local wines. Service is friendly and relaxed.

My wife and I had a fantastic late lunch here. Fish and seafood, imaginatively and carefully prepared. Charming and efficient staff. Great experience.

I had one of the best pastas in my entite life. Spaghetti alle vongole. A must go when in Venice in my opinion.

Volevo venirci da tempo perché è un locale storico con un’ottima reputazione. Peccato non averlo fatto prima. Il personale è molto simpatico e cordiale e si è accuditi con professionalità. Il cibo è ottimo. Ho preso: Churro di peverada Spaghetti con la tartare di mazzancolle Frollone al caffè con crema di mascarpone Gli ambienti sono caldi e ospitali. I prezzi giustificati dalla qualità.

Amo moltissimo questo ristorante. Cominciai a frequentarlo circa trent’anni fa, con un’altra gestione, e fu proprio grazie al ristorante che conobbi questa parte di città, questi lunghi rii rettilinei che caratterizzano queste estreme propaggini di cannaregio. Una parte di città a misura di residenti che ancora resistono in un contesto che è il più bello del mondo ma non il più facile. Mi piace venire qui, almeno una volta l’anno. Questa volta, come spesso capita, in una fredda sera di gennaio, in settimana, con la città quasi deserta, a percorrere calli e fondamente quasi deserte, con rari passanti veloci, cogliendo le luci delle case e sentendo le voci di chi le abita. Che bello venire qui… Quest’anno mi sono accorto di una bella iniziativa, non saprei dire se nuova o se sono io ad essermene accorto solo ora: c’è un foglio affisso in sala su cui sono riportati, divisi per sestiere, gli indirizzi di ristoranti affidabili in città. Dice la signora in sala che ad andare in giro alla cieca per Venezia il rischio di fregatura è altissimo, per cui a loro fa piacere indicare ai clienti affezionati qualche porto sicuro in cui rifugiarsi. Questa policy non è solo segno di grande affetto per i propri ospiti, ma anche grande segno di sicurezza nei propri mezzi e nelle proprie capacità. Sicurezza che poggia su solidissime fondamenta. Fondamenta in italiano , le fondamente in veneziano, anche se non sono la stessa cosa. Questa volta mi hanno fatto i passatelli, che sono la mia madeleine proustiana. Certo, non sono quelli della mia bisnonna Rosa Alberighi, incidentalmente nata proprio qui a Madonna dell’Orto, ma erano ugualmente molto buoni. Sono stato veramente molto bene.
