Historic pizzeria in Cantù, famous for its pizza on a platter spread on two plates. Possibility to order it gluten-free too! Good dough and courteous staff. It is also possible to eat typical dishes of Italian Mediterranean cuisine.

26/09/2023: This is a tale of two visits. The first was happy and successful - wholesome good value food with a knowledgeable selection of well priced wine and a visit to the owners well stocked cellar. So impressed were we that my wife and I made a reservation for early the following evening saying to him we would return for the fish dishes (which we had seen other diners being served). We duly arrived soon after seven (the first diners to arrive)and were given the menu. I said to the waitress did she have sea bass and she said yes. Good I said that will be for us and we will now choose our starters. She said I will give you time to choose them and return shortly. When she returned we gave her the order and she informed us that there was no sea bass. When I asked why she said someone had just ordered it and there was only one. I said that we had said that we wanted it during our first conversation but she said that as she had not written it on her pad the order had not been put in. We argued back and forth for a while during which she did say (when pressed) that she had known there was only one (presumably to share between two people) and that she had omitted to tell us that during our first exchange. I then said we would have “catch of the day” or any other fish they had on the menu. She told us that there was no more fish to be had that evening in the restaurant. I looked everywhere for the owner who had been so friendly and accommodating the previous evening and he was nowhere to be seen. There was no apology or move to placate us in any way and her attitude seemed to be that our predicament was all our fault and none lay with her or the restaurant. I did not see how we could have behaved differently given we had clearly asked for sea bass and agreed it with her. As we wanted to eat fish we had no choice other than to leave left the restaurant without eating as there is plenty of choice in Cernobbio. I believe that if the owner had been there when we arrived there would have been a different outcome.
