Osteria del Gusto In Siena

Restaurant found by chance very close to the Duomo and a few steps from Piazza del Campo. Excellent quality food, very kind staff and a very nice place. The desserts are definitely a gem and they really impressed us. Fair prices in line for staying in the center of Siena. I highly recommend.

The place was extremely receptive and open for us, and the wait staff were extremely helpful in deciding what to pick from the menu, as my wife was pregnant at the time, and needed assistance. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was great. Great experience

My wife and I visited Osteria del Gusto in June 2023. I thought I had written a review then but I couldn’t find it on TripAdvisor, so decided to submit one. After visiting Siena Cathedral and spending quite a lot of time walking up and down the stairs, we were eagerly looking for a nice place to rest our feet and have an early dinner. We looked around and found Osteria del Gusto, which is situated in one of the side alleys near Siena Cathedral. The restaurant had not opened for business yet as it was before 6.00pm. We wandered around the area for a short while then decided to return (we were too tired) and asked them for a table to order some drinks. The staff was very kind to let us in. We ordered from the ala carte menu an octopus salad, a grilled chicken, a pork wrapped with bacon. All the dishes tasted really good especially the grilled chicken. My wife loved the pork dish. Probably because we were too hungry! We had a table by the window and it was fun just to watch people rushing to the cathedral and also people rushing home after work. The staff gave us good recommendations and for dessert we went with their recommended tiramisu. Overall it was a very enjoyable meal. The staff were very patient and we took their advice on the dishes to order. We would love to dine at Osteria del Gusto again when we get a chance to revisit Siena.

Cozy place, from the paintings it seems to be in the middle of the Palio, delicious dishes with simple but balanced combinations, the cut is not hot enough but it's ok, EXCELLENT service. Note of merit for the waiter, I think he was Sri Lankan, super attentive and therefore super professional.

Highly recommended!!! New Year's Eve dinner at more than good prices. Very kind owner. The wines and desserts are also good. When we return to Siena it will be a fixed stop. See you soon.

Excellent service- hosts were gracious and we weren't rushed at all. Beet Risotto, Pici ragu, and pappardelle were amazing. Atmosphere is welcoming warm and refined. Prices low for great quality fresh food. Desserts were delicious. Very pleasant evening all around-Grazie

Bel locale con atmosfera rilassata con luci soffuse, abbiamo mangiato 2 piatti tipici toscani, Pici cacio e pepe e Pici con ragù di Cinta Senese, tutto molto molto buono ed appetitoso, servizio molto cortese ed attento.
