Papei da Turta In Alassio

Really nice place in the center of Alassio. Not very bright inside, few seats. Only one waiter in the room, available and prepared. Not particularly rich menu. We tasted the cuttlefish on pea cream, a very delicate, good dish. Followed by fish soup and ravioli, both excellent. Prices ok!

Papei da Turta is that restaurant that after a while you find in the middle of a jumble of decoys in Alassio. Well, we understood that Alassio is the Portofino of the West....but that it is so difficult to eat well....I wouldn't have expected it! Having said this premise, I return to this beautiful discovery. The small and welcoming place is a little hidden like important and precious things, well furnished and without too many frills it immediately transmits warmth. You can find the same warmth in the service provided by the owner with great professionalism. In the menu you can breathe professionalism, experience and the right fit for a not immense cuisine made by the Chef alone who with perfect timing tells the story of a Ligurian cuisine prepared at the moment "expressed" as the operators in the sector would say, using noble and fresh raw materials . I really appreciated the use of chestnut flour combined with porcini mushrooms, a truly wonderful brandacujun balanced in every ingredient. Grouper ravioli with a hint of the sea, al dente pasta of excellent workmanship...perfectly combined with their sauce which never covered the filling...simple desserts but made by expert hands, I personally appreciated the zabaglione very much. What can I say if you are headed to Alassio or are there as tourists.....avoid for once following TripAdvisor and its fake rankings.....go to a place that really deserves the name of RESTAURANT..... go to Papei da Turta....there aren't eleven pages of menu, not even five.....they don't decorate your plate with magic powders..but you can find excellent food, a decent wine list and lots of love for one of the hardest and most sacrificial jobs on the entire planet!!!! A hidden gem! Amazing restaurant with excellent service. We had a starter, first and main, all 3 were very good. We had gnocchi and seafood soup, all amazing. I would come back for sure.

Google reviews made us book at this establishment, and only upon confirmation of reviews. Great welcome, efficient and pleasant service. Tasty cuisine right through to dessert. Bravo to this very professional duo. Like many people, I recommend this address in the city center in a pleasant little alley. Thank you both for this superb gourmet evening. Didier
