Pizzeria Roberto Palazzino In Palestrina

24/11/2023: There are so many places to choose from for lunch when walking around Rome and I stumbled on this one after a morning of touring the Vatican Museums, ready for lunch. It's a project restaurant that brings together volunteers and disabled people to create a community connection and give work and direction to disabled people. The menu is varied and has the usual items you'd expect from central Rome restaurants, with the addition of the Pinses, a Roman bread based pizza which is lighter than a traditional one. The outside tables look onto a picturesque piazza and it's a lovely spot to while away a lunchtime. I had the Picante Pinse, which was filling, well cooked and extremely tasty. Recommended.

06/11/2023: Our Airbnb hostess recommended this restaurant which was about 2 blocks from our apartment. We were famished and pleased there wasn't a wait to be seated. We sat outside for lunch and enjoyed people watching. We found the prices quite reasonable and had no complaints over the service as we understood that meals are not rushed. Our carbonara and amatriciana were very good. After spending a few days in Rome we learned that every restaurant has their own way of making these two iconic dishes and "best you've ever eaten" is purely subjective.
