05/02/2024: Let me start by saying that I love this pizzeria by the slice. But the experience the other evening made me lose my mind. I go to get gluten-free pizza and ask what flours are used. I am not celiac but I am allergic to corn/wheat and I made this known. The lady who was serving me, after going to check the bag, replied: Wheat and buckwheat. Apart from buckwheat, wheat only has the name, given that it is not a grass and therefore has nothing to do with wheat allergy. But above all when I asked: “how can there be wheat if it is for celiacs. Is it gluten-free wheat?” I was given shrugs, like: boh! More than the fact that I wasn't able to eat the pizza (peace and amen, I know that not everyone uses corn and rice flour), I was annoyed by the misinformation and not being able to answer simple questions. Among other things, it is the responsibility of a person who does that job. The lady at the counter may not have been a pizza chef, but working in a pizzeria you absolutely need to know the basics and information. Also for customer safety. For the rest, the pizza is really very good (I know this because I ate it before discovering my wheat allergy). A little more training wouldn't hurt. That's all. Full speed ahead!
