Ristorante Casa Bonita In Venezia

Our hotel (in San Polo) recommended this restaurant. It was a confusing walk but we found it! Located on a canal we arrived at 7:30. The whole place filled up completely in the next 15 minutes. Get a reservation. Staff was gracious and attentive. Food was very good. Fish fresh. The chocolate dessert was delicious.

We were looking for a highly rated restaurant with outdoor seating on the water -- and not loaded with tourists. We passed this place at lunch and liked what we saw. (Nearby places on the other side of the canal looked unappealing.) We made a reservation for dinner. We arrived and were seated promptly. We ordered: caprese con mozzarella di bufala, pomodoro Cirio e basilico verdure miste di stagione trifolate (broccoli, melanzane, fagiolini, peperone) gnocchetti con coda di rospo, olivette taggiasche e zucchine spaghetti alla scogliera The antipasti were delicious: the tomatoes in the caprese had real flavor and the green beans in the verdure were very tasty. The pasta courses were good and of decent size. We had no room for secondi or desert. The wine list offers ample choice including reasonably priced house wines. We had: Bosco del Merlo Ribolla Gialla Iside 2022 ½ liter vino rosso della casa (a cabernet franc) Service is attentive and professional. Sitting by the canal made a great evening.
