Serpillo In Bevagna

We went for dinner last night attracted by the good reviews from friends. It was Serpillo's evening in the dark, so the venue (already characteristic in itself) was lit with candles and soft lights, all to create an intimate and relaxing atmosphere. The restaurant is perfectly set in the rural charm of the hamlet of Torre del Colle (municipality of Bevagna). An original menu that dares, but respects tradition at the same time. Clearly first choice ingredients! Recommended by the welcoming, kind and competent staff, we had a divine dinner, fully enjoying the evening. Thanks in particular to Matilde and Elena you made us feel at home! We will definitely be back!

Very nice restaurant typical of the small medieval town in which it is located, we had dinner by candlelight with a magical atmosphere, attentive and kind staff. The taste of the food was a little disappointing.

I add myself to the numerous positive reviews. Serpillo in the dark and à la carte menu. Well-kept place, in a remote village but which is a real gem. He had an off-menu appetizer, two first courses, two second courses, water, wine and coffee. The price was everything, especially for the quality and the way it was served. It's really worth it. Wonderful historic inn in a hamlet just outside the center of small Bevagna, Serpillo offers a rather sophisticated menu firmly focused on local flavours. Game and cheese naturally enjoy a prominent place, but even less traditional vegetables in Umbrian cuisine, such as Jerusalem artichoke, are intelligently welcomed. We first tried the excellent chalk, a goat's cheese, grilled with pumpkin in multiple consistencies. Then, the main dish of the evening, a red turnip risotto with hazelnuts and smoked goose breast, a particularly successful and extremely delicious dish. Then, we shared a lamb terrine, crunchy and very balanced, accompanied by Jerusalem artichoke cream and excellent red cabbage. The dessert, alas, of smoked pears with cream and crumble, was not up to par with the rest of the menu, but it may have been our unfortunate choice. The place is small, very warm with a huge fireplace to illuminate the environment and very kind service. You soon feel like you're having dinner with a grandmother who loves you so much.

La cornice è quella di Torre del Colle, una piccola gemma dell'Umbria! Appena entrati veniamo accolti da un ambiente davvero molto curato (la cucina a vista è qualcosa di impareggiabile) e da un'atmosfera creata anche dallo staff che ci ha messo subito a nostro agio. Premetto che la loro gentilezza e disponibilità si era già potuta constatare in occasione della prenotazione (cambiata in corso d'opera) venendoci subito incontro senza nessun problema, per cui grazie! La cena è stata davvero ottima e il servizio puntuale e impeccabile. Abbiamo scelto due antipasti (tra cui uno della carta, le polpette di speck, e uno fuori menù da capogiro!), un primo e un secondo, il tutto accompagnato da un'ottima bottiglia di Scacciadiavoli rosso! Il conto pagato assolutamente in linea con servizio, menù e location. Unico, piccolo, ma importante neo, è stato quello di aver servito dell'acqua (liscia secondo richiesta) in una brocca di vetro (bellissima, ma pur sempre una di quelle riutilizzabili) facendola pagare nel conto 1,50€. Se fate pagare l'acqua questa deve essere servita in bottiglia sigillata da aprire al tavolo al momento. Detto questo, noi lo consigliamo assolutamente!!

Era da tantissimo tempo che non venivo al Serpillo, colpevolmente. Il ristorante è situato in un borgo medievale in pietra di una bellezza rara, una piccola gemma incastonata nelle colline sopra Bevagna da cui si gode di una vista mozzafiato. L'atmosfera, all'interno del ristorante è molto intima, con le sue pareti in pietra e le luci calde, cariche. Menù ristretto, 4 primi e 4 secondi, ma il motivo risiede nella qualità eccelsa dei piatti: come primo tagliatelle al ragù bianco, spezie e tartufo, ordinate con la curiosità di capire come lo chef avrebbe legato due sapori dominanti come il ragù e il tartufo. La risposta è: magistralmente, piatto equilibratissimo e condimento molto abbondante, buona anche la pasta. Secondo: terrina di maiale con speck affumicato, marmellata di cipolle rosse e radicchio. Carne squisita e tenerissima e abbinamenti audaci ma riuscitissimi, piatto nel complesso pazzesco. Anche sui dolci livello molto alto, morbida di fondente gustosissima. Ampia scelta di vini, bagni pulitissimi, servizio nei giusti tempi. Conto basso per quello che si è mangiato, per la location e per la qualità complessiva del locale. Se potessi darei sei stelle.
